The drama surrounding Big Brother star Rylie Jeffries is rumbling on as his mother has now stepped in to defend his character.
This week, Rylie has ignited backlash on social media with Big Brother fans calling for him to be kicked off the show after exhibiting what they believed to be “abusive” behavior.
Many felt that during his time on the series Rylie has shown “aggressive” and “creepy” patterns towards his love interest Katherine Woodman.
While Big Brother is no stranger to controversy and claims of producers “manipulating” the contestants, many feel that Riley’s behavior warrants ejection from the show.
As this drama unfolds, his mother Michelle Jeffries has vouched for him assuring that his behavior is simply due to the intense circumstances of the series.
In an interview with TMZ, she said, “They’re stuck in a house with no TV, no radios, no phones.
They’re getting to know each other on a personal level we don’t understand.
He’s not some obsessive stalker-type person like everyone is saying. He’s got a great heart and wears it on his sleeve.”

Michelle went on to add that Riley is a small-town guy who loves with his “whole heart” and those who know him would not have an ill word to say about him.
She added that she thinks Katherine seems like a “like a really great girl,” and “if Rylie’s happy, we’re happy and that’s all that matters to me.”
As for those saying that Katherine needs to break things off with Riley, Michelle said, “If she’s not happy, they will figure that out on their own. Their relationship is their decision.”
These concerns regarding Riley’s behavior arose after a clip from the live feeds circulated on social media during which Riley and Katherine were sharing a private conversation about their relationship.

To which she replied, “I’m not doing that. I wouldn’t do that, you know?” And he responded, “You don’t need to.
You’re stuck with me.” Katherine replied “Okay,” before Rylie looked at her and said, “I mean it.”
On a new Reddit thread, many Big Brother fans shared their thoughts on the intense interaction.
One person posted, “Telling someone multiple times that you’re going to be with them whether they like it or not, and asking if they hate you because they don’t want to sleep in your bed on national television, is more than creepy.”
Another agreed, “There are clear abusive/ stalking behaviors on display here. Domestic violence doesn’t start with fists, it starts with control and manipulation.”
