Robinson, 22, is suspected of assassinating conservative political activist Charlie Kirk at a debate event for Kirk’s nonprofit, Turning Point USA.
The event took place at Utah Valley University on September 10.
WHO IS LANCE TWIGGS?
On Tuesday, FBI deputy director Dan Bongino confirmed on the Megyn Kelly Show that Robinson’s roommate’s name is Lance Twiggs.
Twiggs and Robinson were confirmed to be dating, according to Bongino.
“This partner has been very cooperative, had no idea that this was happening,” Utah Governor Spencer Cox told Meet the Press on Sunday.
Twiggs is said to have come from a conservative background but has “very different” beliefs than his family, according to Cox.
“We do know that the roommate that we had originally talked about, we can confirm that that roommate is a boyfriend who is transitioning from male to female,” the governor said.
Twiggs is not suspected of having helped the alleged shooter with the murder.
INCRIMINATING TEXTS
Robinson and Twiggs allegedly exchanged text messages following the shooting, which Twiggs showed law enforcement.
In the messages, the suspected 22-year-old shooter explained to Twiggs why he shot Kirk and expressed concern over retrieving his grandfather’s rifle.

Charlie Kirk officials ask for DEATH PENALTY for ‘assassin Tyler Robinson who had roommate delete texts after shooting’
Robinson started the messages by telling Twiggs to look under his keyboard at the apartment, officials say.
Under the keyboard, the roommate allegedly discovered a note that read: “I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and I’m going to take it.”
“You weren’t the one who did it right????” asked the roommate.
“I am, I’m sorry,” Robinson replied.
Twiggs replied in shock, asking why Robinson would do such a thing, officials reported.
“I had enough of his hatred,” Robinson allegedly replied.
“Some hate can’t be negotiated out.”
The alleged shooter told his roommate that he hoped to keep the secret until he died of old age.
“If I am able to grab my rifle unseen, I will have left no evidence,” he allegedly wrote.
Robinson sent Twiggs several messages stressing about leaving the rifle behind and how he could explain losing his grandfather’s rifle to his dad, according to police.
“I’m wishing I had circled back and grabbed [the rifle] as soon as I got to my vehicle…
I worry about prints I had to leave it in a bush where I changed outfits,” he allegedly wrote to Twiggs.
“Didn’t have the ability or time to bring it with. … I might have to abandon it and hope they don’t find prints.”
Robinson ended the alleged messages by warning Twiggs not to speak to anyone and to delete the messages.
ROBINSON’S CHARGES
Robinson faces aggravated murder, a capital crime, and six other charges.
The suspected shooter faces two charges of obstruction of justice after concealing or removing “the firearm used to shoot Charlie Kirk,” and after he allegedly “destroyed, concealed, or removed the clothing he wore during the shooting,” according to court documents.
“DNA consistent with Robinson’s was found on the trigger, other parts of the rifle, the fired cartridge casing, two of the three unfired cartridges, and the towel,” according to the charging document.
He is also being charged with felony discharge of a firearm and one count of commission of a violent offense in the presence of a child.
The suspected shooter’s family saw images of the rifle used in the shooting and instantly became suspicious of Robinson.
His parents’ suspicion increased when Robinson didn’t send pictures of the rifle that was given to him by his grandfather, police reported.
Robinson’s mother said that her son had become increasingly more progressive and “started to lean more to the left – becoming more pro-gay and trans-rights oriented.”
A family member ultimately convinced Robinson to turn himself in.
He is being held without bail.

💥 “NO CAMERAS. NO PRESS. JUST THREE NAMES THE WORLD THOUGHT THEY KNEW.” 🌪️ When the Category-5 monster Hurricane Melissa tore through Jamaica, help was nowhere in sight. Then — without a single announcement — a private jet touched down at dawn. Inside: Rachel Maddow. Stephen Colbert. Joy Reid. No sponsors. No cameras. No entourage.
