Karoline Leavitt appeared to dodge a question about Donald Trump’s health
Karoline Leavitt appeared to dodge a question about Donald Trump’s health from a reporter during the White House press briefing on Tuesday.
“You guys announced the president was diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency after his legs were swelling…
How is he being treated for that? And, while you were upfront about those health issues, curious if the White House would let us speak with his physician directly about those health issues,” the reporter asked Leavitt.
“It is certainly something we can look into and explore out of the effort of transparency, because unlike the previous White House, there is nothing to hide.
You guys see this president working around the clock, literally 24/7, all of the time, and I will be happy to look into that request.”
When asked for an “update” on how he was being treated for his swollen hands and legs, Leavitt declined to answer directly.
“He’s moving, he’s working, he’s continuing— there have been no adjustments made to his lifestyle.”
It comes a month after Leavitt revealed that President Trump’s visible health concerns stem from “chronic venous insufficiency,” according to an assessment conducted by the White House physician.
Citizens across America have spotted several abnormalities in the president’s appearance recently, highlighting obvious skin problems and puffy ankles.
“I know that many in the media have been speculating about bruising on the president’s hand and also swelling in the president’s legs,” Leavitt explained.
“In the effort of transparency, the president wanted me to share a note from his physician … all results were within normal limits.”

Leavitt explained that the bruising and inflammation resulted from President Trump’s daily responsibilities within the White House.
The abnormalities on his hands were allegedly triggered by continuous handshaking with visitors and foreign dignitaries.
Regarding the inflamed ankles, the White House doctor links them to the president’s advanced age of 79.
The sitting president is reportedly battling chronic venous insufficiency, a condition that develops when veins have difficulty pumping blood from the lower extremities back to the heart.
This issue is usually triggered by faulty valve function.
In a statement released to the press, the doctor explained: “In recent weeks, President Trump noted mild swelling in his lower legs.
In keeping with routine medical care and out of an abundance of caution, this concern was thoroughly evaluated by the White House medical unit.”
“The president underwent a comprehensive examination, including diagnostic vascular studies, and bilateral lower extremity venous Doppler ultrasounds were performed and revealed chronic venous insufficiency.
A benign and common condition, particularly in individuals over the age of 70.”
