Angel Reese boldly declared that her signature basketball shoe with Reebok will someday reach the same level of popularity as Jordan brand sneakers.
Over the last three weeks, Reese has been forced to miss the last seven games while continuing to recover from a nagging back injury.
The Chicago Sky star has kept busy away from the court, however, after announcing the release date of her signature shoe drop.
Ahead of the highly anticipated release, Reese has already made history by becoming just the second player in WNBA history to receive a signature shoe from Reebok.
During the league’s inaugural season in 1997, Hall of Famer Rebecca Lobo was given her own sneaker with the brand.
Despite already etching her name in the history books, Reese is looking to accomplish far more in the sneaker game.
Speaking to Elle’s Kayla Webley Adler, the 23-year-old expressed confidence that her shoe will quickly become a “household name” similar to Michael Jordan’s Nike line.
“Reebok is back! We’re bringing back that old-school look, the old-school vibes,” Reese explained.
“People are going to be wearing Reebok everywhere, just like how they wear Jordans everywhere.
“I want people to wear the Angel Reese 1s everywhere and just to be a household name, to have no limits on what I can do and what I can accomplish.”
Although the initial plan was to release the Angel Reese 1 next year, Reebok revealed that the first wave of sneakers will now hit the shelves on September 18.
The upcoming drop will feature three different styles, including white with mother-of-pearl accents titled ‘Diamond Dust,’ black and white with red accents called ‘Receipts Ready,’ as well as an all-pink colorway dubbed ‘Mebounds.’
“It’s great. It’s a blessing,” she said of having her own shoe.
“I don’t know when the perfect time would be, because so many great things are happening at once all the time for me…
But I know fans have been wondering and asking about it.
“And I know it was supposed to come in 2026, but I thought, Why not now? Why not year two?
Why not be able to wear my shoe while I’m playing and striving for great things?
“Being able to have the support that I have right now with the fans is really important to me, and I’m trying to maximize everything while I can.
This is a really important moment for me right now, and I’m really excited for it to launch.”
In addition to her shoe, Reese is also slated to launch a signature apparel collection that draws inspiration from her “unapologetic energy and off-court style.”
“My personality is me being unapologetically myself — that’s what the shoes are as well: unapologetic,” she added.
“The versatility of being able to wear the shoes on and off the court was the most important thing to me.
I really wanted to have a shoe that I can wear on the court, but also in the tunnel ‘fits, fashion moments, events, and big things.
“I have a lot of great friends that also can wear the shoes for their events and music videos, and that’s what I thought about too when I started creating the shoe.”

💥 “NO CAMERAS. NO PRESS. JUST THREE NAMES THE WORLD THOUGHT THEY KNEW.” 🌪️ When the Category-5 monster Hurricane Melissa tore through Jamaica, help was nowhere in sight. Then — without a single announcement — a private jet touched down at dawn. Inside: Rachel Maddow. Stephen Colbert. Joy Reid. No sponsors. No cameras. No entourage. They brought 5 tons of food, medicine, water filters, and $1.5 million in aid, all paid from their own pockets. Locals said they worked through the night — lifting boxes, feeding children, treating wounds — not a single word about fame or press. And when a volunteer asked why they came, Joy Reid quietly answered: “Because the news doesn’t need to cover this — humanity does.” By morning, they were gone. No selfies. No headlines. Just whispers spreading across the island — “Were those really them?” Nobody knows who leaked the flight manifest. But one thing’s certain: this wasn’t charity.
