For more than a decade, Michael Jordan’s legendary Highland Park estate stood with its gates locked, its driveway cracked, and its famous “23” crest collecting dust.

After years of abandonment and failed sales attempts, the home once synonymous with the NBA’s arguably greatest player has been rebranded, repackaged, and made available to rent on Airbnb.

The 56,000-square-foot property, once listed for $29 million, was finally sold in December for $9.5 million to Lincoln, Nebraska, real estate investor John Cooper, who has since renamed it Champions Point.

According to the official Airbnb listing, the mansion located at 2700 Point Lane in Highland Park, Illinois, is available for a minimum seven-night stay, restricted to 12 guests, and requires a $25,000 security deposit along with a signed nondisclosure agreement.

The rules are strict, and the host only accepts guests with at least three previous Airbnb stays.

The rate isn’t listed publicly, but sources close to Cooper told NBC News that a single week inside the property costs well into six figures.

Cooper has already marketed the estate as a “private sports resort” and “exclusive event property,” and the pricing supports that ambition.

Champions Point still has its famous No. 23 iron gates, and guests will find seven bedrooms, seventeen and a half bathrooms, and an interior design that blends late-1990s luxury with contemporary trends.

There’s a regulation-size basketball court, tennis pavilion, putting green, infinity pool, movie theater, game lounge, and a cigar room once known for hosting the NBA elite.

None of the 22 listing photos includes any trace of Jordan’s career. Even the massive display cases that once showcased his six championship rings and MVP awards are gone.

Cooper oversees investments through HAN Capital and Heartland Storage.

His plan is to use Champions Point as both an Airbnb rental and a fractional-ownership timeshare property, while also auctioning off pieces of the original home to collectors.

After closing on the estate, Cooper mentioned that his all-time favorite NBA player is Jordan.

He also reflected on his early athletic ambitions before asthma hindered his sports career.

“But my favorite player to watch was always Jordan,” he said. “He made shots that seemed impossible, and he got it done on defense too.”

Jordan led the Chicago Bulls to six championships, won five MVP awards, and revolutionized the modern athlete’s brand economy.

After selling his portion of the Charlotte Hornets, Jordan’s primary business ventures include earning substantial royalties from the Jordan Brand (Nike) and co-ownership of NASCAR’s 23XI Racing team.

Jordan also has investments in Cincoro Tequila, DraftKings, and real estate, like the Grove XXIII golf course.

His portfolio, overseen by Jump Management, spreads across sports, betting, spirits, and tech, using his brand to ensure long-term wealth growth.
