Recently, there has been much drama regarding Los Angeles Clippers owner Steve Ballmer and the team’s star player, Kawhi Leonard.
Pablo Torre previously revealed that the Clippers paid Leonard through a now-bankrupt company.
Torre revealed that Leonard allegedly signed a secret endorsement deal with a fraudulent tree-planting company to circumvent the salary cap.
Torre also revealed that Ballmer reportedly funded this company with $50 million.
Later, in an interview, Ballmer tried to clear his name from this scandal.
The discussions continue as Torre recently joined Dave DuFour and Sam Amick on The Athletic NBA Daily to reveal more facts about the secret deal.
“One of the funniest parts about this whole thing is that you had Leonardo DiCaprio, you had Robert Downey Jr., you had Drake, some of the most charismatic communicators in public, in our country.
And the guy making four times as much as everybody, including Sydney Crawford, Orlando Bloom, as well, was the worst of all the athletes in that regard,” Torre said.
“Also, with no deliverables, and also he didn’t do anything,” Torre said.
Torre revealed that Aspiration had sponsorship deals with celebrities such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert Downey Jr., Drake, Cindy Crawford, and Orlando Bloom.
He mentioned that Leonardo earned more than four times as much as the others.
Consequences If the Kawhi Leonard Endorsement Deal Scandal Is Proven True

The Athletic recently reported that the NBA has hired an external law firm to investigate allegations against the Clippers and Leonard.
A key question is the consequences if the allegations are proven true.
ClutchPoints has analysed the potential outcomes.
“If proven true, it would mark one of the most serious salary-cap scandals in NBA history.
Leonard has already earned $241.7M with the Clippers and is still owed another $100.3M.
This could lead to a voided deal, massive fines, lost draft picks, and Kawhi himself hitting free agency.
And if that happens? His market value would be unlike anything we’ve seen,” via ClutchPoints.
ClutchPoints predicted that Leonard would not sign for a low price, and if there were a chance of a discounted friendly deal, half the league would participate in the bidding.
