TRAVIS Kelce has turned heads with his new three-year contract to return to the Kansas City Chiefs.

The 36-year-old Kelce contemplated retirement before deciding to run it back for his 14th season in the NFL.

On Monday, Kelce arrived at the Chiefs’ facility to put pen to paper on his new contract with the team.

Kelce signed a three-year, $54.7m deal that can be worth up to $57.7m, per NFL Network.

The report added that Kelce will make $12m guaranteed in 2026, with $3m in incentives.

NFL fans are stunned to see Kelce receive a three-year contract, given the fact that he contemplated retirement both last and this offseason.

“Three years at 36? thats nuts commitment for any athlete that age,” one wrote on X.

“I’m so confused, how’d he go from about to retire to signing a 3 year deal?!?!?” a second said.

But Kelce signing on for three years doesn’t mean he’ll be rocking the Chiefs threads for the entirety of the deal.

Kelce has two void years to spread his cap hit.

The 11-time Pro Bowler’s $40m of the contract is fully guaranteed if he is still on the team’s roster in June 2027.

It’s highly unlikely the Chiefs won’t let that $40m in guaranteed money to hit.

While Kelce could retire after the 2026 season, he can still play next year with a new contract.

Kelce could look to once again renegotiate if he wants to play in 2027.

The veteran tight end is coming off a season in which he posted 851 receiving yards and five touchdowns.
