FORMER NFL quarterback Chris Streveler has retired from football.
The 31-year-old former New York Jet announced Tuesday he was hanging up his cleats in an emotional video statement.

Streveler went undrafted in 2018 after a strong collegiate career with Minnesota and South Dakota.
He signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the CFL before getting his NFL break in 2020.
Streveler has since played for the Arizona Cardinals, Miami Dolphins, Baltimore Ravens, and the Jets.
But he has chosen to call time on his career after being released by the Blue Bombers in February.
“I love football, but today is my last day as a football player,” Streveler said on Instagram.
“This game has given me opportunities beyond my wildest dreams.
“This game has challenged me with obstacles I thought I’d never overcome.
“This game has forged lifelong bonds with people I would have never met otherwise.
“I’ve been playing this game since I was eight years old. Today, I’m 31.”
Streveler spent his time in the NFL as a backup, appearing in 9 total games across three seasons.
The Illinois native threw for 231 yards and one touchdown during his NFL career.
He is also a two-time CFL rushing touchdowns leader with 41 scores across four years with the Blue Bombers.
Streveler was made a free agent in February and had been blighted by injuries across his eight-year career.
“Been trying to wrap my mind around what happened yesterday and the road ahead,” the play-caller added on Instagram.
“All I know is this: I have no regrets. About the way I carried myself as a teammate & leader day in and day out.”
