The 26-year-old’s rookie contract expires at the end of the season
NFL star Cam Taylor-Britt has been jailed after pleading guilty to driving offenses.
The Cincinnati Bengals cornerback was charged with unclassified no-license charge and reckless driving after an incident last year.
Cam Taylor-Britt has been sentenced to five days in prison
The NFL star pleaded guilty to two counts of dangerous driving
Taylor-Britt, 26, is currently recovering from a Lisfranc injury he picked up in Week 11 of the NFL season.
He appeared on crutches at Hamilton County Municipal Court on Tuesday morning.
The cornerback pleaded guilty to both charges after being issued with two tickets in 2025, per Yahoo.
Police said Taylor-Britt was allegedly “street racing” a 2021 Jeep Cherokee back in June.
He was subsequently charged with driving with a restricted license, drag racing and failing to obey roadway signs.
Those remaining charges were dropped as part of a plea agreement.
Taylor-Britt’s attorney asked the court to sentence his client to community service, per NBC.
The NFL star was instead sentenced to serve five days in jail.
“That’s a gift,” the judge said, via Chelsea Sick of WKRC.
“Five days instead of 30. He’s got to do them now. It’ll be over soon enough.”
“I just want to apologize, first and foremost for my actions that I’ve put everybody else through,” Taylor-Britt said, per ESPN.
“[They were] not intentional in [any] way.”
Taylor-Britt was a second round draft pick for the Bengals in 2022.
He appeared in eight games for Cincinnati this season before a season-ending injury in Week 11.
The corner set to be a free agent after the expiration of his rookie deal.
Prior to Tuesday’s court proceedings, Taylor-Britt opened up on his future.
And he indicated his NFL career could continue away from Cincinnati.
“I’m not opposed to it,” Taylor-Britt said when asked about a possible move.
“At the end of the day, I don’t think anybody would be mad at a new change of scenery.”
The NFL declined to comment when approached by WKRC.
