FORMER NFL quarterback Derek Carr is willing to come out of retirement but only under very specific conditions.
Carr, 34, hung up the cleats to the surprise of many ahead of the 2025 NFL season.

He is now looking to make his return but under very specific conditions
He was only two years into a four-year, $150 million deal with the New Orleans Saints when he decided to retire.
Long-standing pain in his right shoulder from a previous labral tear was the main reason he called time on his career.
However, Carr has recently been tipped to return to the NFL as several teams look for a competent quarterback.
Speaking on the ‘Home Grown’ podcast that he hosts with his brother David Carr, he made his retirement U-turn intentions clear.
He told his brother, “Would I do it? Yes. Would I do it for anybody? Absolutely not.”
“Would I do it. Absolutely, I would. I told you two things: I have to be healthy, and I’d want a chance to win a Super Bowl.
“And obviously, that’s a tough thing to find. That’s hard to do. That’s not easy.”
The closest Carr ever came to winning a Super Bowl was in the 2021 season with the Las Vegas Raiders.
He guided the Raiders to a 10-7 regular season record which was enough to secure a wildcard playoff spot.
However, the Raiders were one-and-done after falling to the team that lost in the Super Bowl that year, the Cincinnati Bengals.
That was the only playoff game Carr has played in his career, having been injured for the 2016 postseason after his stellar 12-3 year.
One team that has been touted to move for Carr is the Miami Dolphins amid their quarterback uncertainty.
It is expected that they will move on from $212 million quarterback Tua Tagovailoa after years of failing to meet expectations.
After firing head coach Mike McDaniel, former Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley is now the man in charge of their impending rebuild.
The most obvious candidate would be the Pittsburgh Steelers if Aaron Rodgers does not return.
However, any team looking to sign Carr will have to negotiate trade compensation with the Saints due to the fact he is still technically under contract there.
