Marines from 2nd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division have flown on one of the Patriots’ jets to Norway.

At least a dozen Marines have been seen departing the NFL-liveried plane.

They have arrived to participate in a large NATO cold-weather operations exercise.

The operation will bring together more than 25,000 service members from a range of NATO states.

It has been explained to Task & Purpose that the Marines have arrived in a mix of military and civilian planes.

This includes the Patriots’ Boeing 767-300.

Omni Air operates two Patriots-owned Boeing 767s.

It is not clear exactly how many US Marines have been sent to take part in NATO’s Cold Response exercise 26.

The decision to use the jet comes as the Patriots have secured their place at Super Bowl LX.

They will face the Seattle Seahawks at Levi’s Stadium on Sunday, February 8.

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump, 79, has ramped up talks of taking the Danish autonomous territory of Greenland.

He has argued that Greenland is vital to the United States’ defense against threats from Russia and China.

President Trump has refused to rule out using force to capture the mineral-rich island.

While Greenland’s Prime Minister has warned of a potential attack from American soldiers.

Trump has also previously threatened to withdraw the United States from NATO.

But American troops have arrived in Norway for Cold Response 26.

The operation will include a range of training focuses between the NATO partners.

US Air Force aircraft including fighter jets and helicopters will also take part alongside the Marines.
