Brooklyn Nets star Michael Porter Jr. surprised his mom with a new car

Porter gifted his mom a BMW for Christmas
Porter, 27, made a flying visit to his family home in Missouri for Christmas.
He returned for less than 24 hours to deliver a brand new car for his mom, Lisa’s, present.
The small forward gifted her a new BMW, understood to cost upwards of $100,000.
She was tasked with reading different clues before finding the key in her pantry.
His mom appeared overwhelmed as she read the final clue on camera.
Porter shared footage of the emotional exchange on Instagram.
“You have found the last of your clues. Only one thing needs to be done. Bring this key to the driveway,” he said.
“I can’t believe you bought me this. What am I going to do with a BMW? That’s so nice of you. Look at this.”
Porter joined the Nets ahead of the 2025-26 NBA season after six seasons with the Denver Nuggets.
The experienced forward has signed with the franchise as Ben Simmons, 29, quits for a career in fishing.
He has been a key player for the Nets during the early stages of the 2025-26 NBA season.
Porter has made 25 starts for the Nets this year.
This has resulted in him averaging a career-best of 25.8 points per game.
His gift for his mother comes after she made a significant sacrifice to help him reach the NBA.
Porter boasted about Lisa’s previous basketball career in a comment on Instagram.
“Best momma in the [world],” Porter commented.
“Used to [average] 50 in high school and stopped hooping to raise and homeschool 8 kids!”
The Nets sit last in the Atlantic Division with just ten wins from 30 games this season.
