The Giants are close to getting the best head coach on the market.
For a fanbase hungry for wins and sustained success, the news couldn’t be more welcome.
As The Post’s Paul Schwartz first reported on Wednesday night, all indications are that the Giants are going to bring in John Harbaugh to become their 24th head coach in franchise history.
With a Super Bowl win (2013) and 180 wins over 18 seasons with the Ravens, the prospect of bringing in a head coach of his stature had social media excited for the possibilities of what he can achieve with quarterback Jaxson Dart.
“The scope of what is happening tonight to a historic franchise that has been down forever is insane” Shaun Morash of WFAN wrote on X. “Get the QB and the Coach Right and you are playing in January more year’s than not. Smile, breath, better days are finally ahead Giants fans. Out of the depths of Hell we come.”
Baltimore head coach John Harbaugh stands on the sideline in the fourth quarter of the Ravens’ home loss to the Bengals this past regular season.
“Congrats Giants fans. Slam dunk,” John Jastremski, podcast host on The Ringer, added.
“I can’t remember the last time the Giants made a move that made me happy like this,” Meek Phil of Barstool Sports chimed in.
Another user on X put it simply: “Big Blue is back.”
If and when Harbaugh finalizes the deal to come to the Meadowlands, he will have his work cut out for him after a 4-13 season that saw the Giants land the No. 5 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
But with a coach of his pedigree seemingly heading to MetLife Stadium, fans are salivating for what could happen under a new regime.
