Rodgers has a few months left on his Steelers contract

AARON Rodgers will not make a decision on his playing for a “few months,” it’s been claimed.

The veteran quarterback penned a one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers last June worth $13.65million.

But the Pittsburgh Steelers QB, 42, won’t make a decision on his playing future just yet

Father Time seemingly started to catch up with the 42-year-old last season, despite him moving into fourth place in the all-time touchdown passes list.

The Steelers’ playoff loss to the Houston Texans, in which he performed poorly, prompted suggestions that he could soon hang up his cleats.

But according an insider in the Rodgers‘ camp, he’ll take his time before deciding his future – which he’ll mull over on multiple retreats.

They told The Daily Mail, “Aaron is going to go on his retreats and not make a public decision on returning for one more year for a few months.

“He might take as much time as he did this past season when he finally signed with the Steelers.

“He’s going to make it stretch out for a long time, because that is what Aaron does; he plays to the beat of his own drum.

“He’s shown that over the years, and that will continue.

“But when he is done with football, you’re rarely ever going to see him again.”

Aaron Rodgers refused to be drawn on his playing future after the Steelers’ playoff exit to the Texans

Rodgers cut a crestfallen figure after the Steelers’ defeat to the Texans, which he insisted he wouldn’t let influence any decision on his future.

He said, “I mean, I’m not going to make any emotional decisions.

“[I’m] disappointed, obviously. Such a fun year. A lot of adversity, but a lot of fun.

“[It’s] been a great year overall in my life in the last year, and this is a really good part of that, coming here and being a part of this team.

“So, it’s disappointing to be sitting here with the season over.”
