KANSAS City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes spent Christmas with his family and took some cute photos after his heartbreaking injury.

 

 

 

Mahomes, 30, sustained a devastating knee injury two weeks ago during the Chiefs’ defeat to the Los Angeles Chargers.

The quarterback suffered a torn ACL and went under the knife soon after.

The Texas native is already working on his rehab but took some time off to celebrate Christmas with his wife Brittany Mahomes and their three children.

The Chiefs star also donned a knee brace as he signalled his determination to return to action soon.

Brittany shared the pics on Instagram with the following caption, “Merry Christmas.”

Her 2.1million followers were left in awe as they stormed the comments’ section.

One fan posted, “Merry Christmas Mahomes family.”

 

 

 

Another commented, “Loveeeee these! Merry Christmas guys. Hope Patrick is resting up.”

A third wrote, “Hope you’re healing up good Patrick!!”

And another comment read, “Beautiful pictures and family.”

Mahomes was then at Arrowhead Stadium on Christmas night to see his team’s 20-13 loss against the Denver Broncos.

 

 

 

The Chiefs missed out on the NFL playoffs for the first time in the Mahomes era.

This comes after three consecutive Super Bowl appearances, two of which they won.

And the three-time Super Bowl MVP missed out on the Pro Bowl for the second year running.
