Police were reportedly called to Iman Shumpert’s home last week over an argument with a woman who claimed that the ex-NBA star hit her, which was disputed by a separate witness at the scene.
According to TMZ Sports, cops responded to a call for a verbal dispute at Shumpert’s residence in Atlanta at around 4:37am on Wednesday November 26 before being dispatched to the property.
When they arrived, it is believed that officers observed the former New York Knicks and Cleveland Cavaliers guard, 35, placing a suitcase outside his home. He told them that he wanted the woman, who has been named as influencer Joanna Donnejour, to leave several times.
Donnejour then told officers that they had an argument in Shumpert’s room about him communicating with another woman, all while a separate female was present at the time.
She then went on to alleged that he removed her from the room by ‘dragging her by her wrist and foot toward the stairs’ before she ordered a ride to take her off the property. Donnejour told cops that she wanted to press charges after alleging that Shumpert ‘hit her’.
The other woman at the scene also spoke with police, instead claiming that Shumpert twice asked Donnejour to leave the room during their verbal clash before grabbing her ‘by the wrist to escort her out’ in a way that was not in an ‘aggressive manner.’

Officers, who stayed at the scene until Donnejour left, stated there was no visible injuries, markings or bruising observed on her body. No charges were filed due to the witness statements and lack of supporting evidence.
In bodycam footage obtained by TMZ, she is heard telling Shumpert ‘see you in court – and on Instagram in the morning.’
The 2016 NBA Champion is quoted as saying in a statement: ‘Last week, I had friends over and a visitor at my residence was politely asked to leave several times after I witnessed her damaging personal property.
‘The police were called, invited inside and they spoke with multiple people who saw what happened. After assessing the situation, the police instructed her to leave repeatedly. She refused to vacate the property after being asked to leave multiple times and only after the officers escorted her outside did she eventually depart.
‘This matter was quickly closed that night by the police after they did their investigation.’
Daily Mail has contacted Iman Shumpert’s lawyer and Joanna Donnejour for more information.
Shumpert, who previously appeared on Dancing with the Stars, was recently involved in a messy divorce with ex-wife Teyana Taylor, whom he married back in 2016. The former couple share two daughters; Iman Jr., 9, and Rue Rose, 5.
TMZ reported that Taylor secretly filed for a divorce in January 2023 – more than eight months before they announced their separation.

Donnejour alleged that the former basketball player struck her at one stage of the altercation

But another witness at the scene allegedly disputed the influencer’s version of events

Drama later unfolded after Taylor accused Shumpert of being under the influence while caring for their children and cutting off the utilities in their home, leaving her and their daughters without water and other bare necessities.
They have also quarreled over money, with Taylor claiming he withdrew $4million from shared accounts and leaving her to take care of $200,000 worth of home renovations.
The pair finalized their divorce in the summer of 2024, but Taylor later called for the judge who granted it to hold Shumpert in contempt of court for allegedly leaking sealed details of their settlement to the media, TMZ Hip Hop claimed earlier this year.
Shumpert spent his 11-year NBA career with the Knicks, Cavaliers, Sacramento Kings, Houston Rockets and Brooklyn Nets before dropping out of the league in 2021.
During his time in Cleveland, the former Georgia Tech college star helped the Cavs become NBA champions in 2016.
