One of the top Google searches on Saturday for some fans watching the NFL combine will be “Who is Taylen Green?”
The top-10 quarterback prospect for this year’s NFL draft put on a show at the combine, hitting top marks at the position on Saturday.
The Arkansas product, at 6-foot-5 and 227 pounds, ran a 4.36-second 40-yard dash and hit a 43 1/2 inch vertical jump and an 11-2 broad jump to go with it. All three stand as records for quarterbacks since at least 2003.
Arkansas quarterback Taylen Green (QB08) during the NFL Scouting Combine at Lucas Oil Stadium on Feb. 28, 2026.
The vertical jump surpassed 2023 No. 4 pick Anthony Richardson’s previous record by three inches, and the broad jump record beat the Colts quarterback’s mark by five inches.
His dash time only trails quarterback Reggie McNeal’s 4.35 seconds from 2006.
The previous best 40-yard dash for a quarterback was a 4.41 by Robert Griffin III, who was coming off a Heisman Trophy campaign at Baylor in 2012.
Green didn’t bother trying to best his initial time with a second attempt.
His day shook things up around the combine, as Green was largely expected to be a developmental option for teams on Day 3 of the draft. Rankings are in flux beyond Fernando Mendoza’s expected No.1 selection.

According to ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr.’s latest rankings, Green is No. 8 among signal-callers.
Before playing at Arkansas for two seasons, Green logged two years at Boise State. Last year, he threw for 2,714 yards with 19 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. He also added 777 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground.
NFL Network’s Charles Davis explained that Green said no teams have approached him to work out as a receiver. Nor would the quarterback be open to making the switch.
Outside of Green, running back Mike Washington Jr. impressed on Saturday. He logged a group-leading 4.33-second 40-yard dash along with an impressive vertical leap (39 inches) and broad jump (10-8).
