The San Francisco Bay Area was hit by a 4.2 magnitude earthquake on early Monday morning

An earthquake hit the region on early Monday morning, just hours after the arrival of the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks.

According to ABC 7News, a 4.2 magnitude earthquake struck near San Ramon, California, at 7.01 am PST.

That was a mere half an hour after a 3.8 quake was felt amid a string of over 30 tremors in the area.

There have been no reports of injuries from around the San Francisco Bay Area in the wake of the seismic activity.

A video from a San Ramon 7-Eleven showed products falling off shelves during one of the earthquakes.

The U.S Geological Survey told ABC 7News that this is a continuation of ‘the swarm of quakes’ the area has been experiencing.

How this affects the NFL and its preparations for the upcoming Super Bowl is unclear.

The Patriots were just getting settled into their new home for the week at the Santa Clara Marriott hotel.

They plan to practice at Stanford University’s sports facilities ahead of the big game on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the Seahawks are slightly further out as the designated Super Bowl away team, placed at the San Jose Marriott hotel.

They will also use college football facilities at San Jose State University in the coming days.

Neither team will use the 49ers’ practice facilities, which has sparked some conspiracy theories.

The 49ers’ chronic injury chaos has recently been linked to their practice facility being next to an electrical substation.

However, these claims have been heavily disputed by medical professionals.

The upcoming Super Bowl preparations put in place are also no different from 10 years ago, when the 49ers previously hosted it.

The NFL, media, and fans alike will be hoping for no more earthquake activity in the coming day,s which could affect the big game.
