Kimmel took aim at Trump who has previously appeared on his show
Jimmy Kimmel kicked off his temporary East Coast residency with an explosive attack on Donald Trump amid his rift with the president.
The 57-year-old late-night comedian is currently spending a week in his native Brooklyn, filming several episodes of Jimmy Kimmel Live! at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
Following his recent hiatus, Kimmel has bounced back as though no time had passed, delivering relentless jabs at Donald Trump.
Just days after expressing gratitude to the U.S. president for boosting his ratings, he unleashed another barrage of biting remarks about the mogul and his team.
The comment that drew the biggest reaction from his studio audience concerned Trump’s latest directive to declassify all documents regarding Amelia Earhart’s mysterious vanishing.
On Friday, Sept. 26, the president issued instructions to his administration via his Truth Social social media platform, reports the Mirror US.
He posted, “I have been asked by many people about the life and times of Amelia Earhart, such an interesting story.

“Amelia made it almost three-quarters around the World before she suddenly, and without notice, vanished, never to be seen again.
Her disappearance, almost 90 years ago, has captivated millions.
“I am ordering my Administration to declassify and release all Government Records related to Amelia Earhart, her final trip, and everything else about her. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
During his opening monologue on Monday, Sept. 29, Kimmel quipped about the president’s remarks, saying, the president has been “hard at work” coming up with all sorts of nonsense to distract us from the Epstein files.
Kimmel was referencing recently released documents about convicted late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein which mention Trump.

He added, “Unless her final flight was to [Jeffrey] Epstein’s island, no one cares. At least he made it to the E’s in the files. That’s progress.”
Throughout recent months, the president has attempted to create distance between himself and the discredited tycoon and the documents related to his notorious sex-trafficking case.
During a press conference outside the White House in July, Trump declared, “I have nothing to do with the guy.”

President Trump has repeatedly rejected any misconduct allegations in the Epstein matter.
Authorities have not charged him with any offenses, nor has he been named as a target in any probe.
Kimmel’s barb arrives less than a week following his return to television after a week-long hiatus.
Sinclair said it had decided to reinstate the talk show after “thoughtful feedback from viewers, advertisers and community leaders.”
Disney announced the return of the programme after backlash to its suspension.
He had been pulled over comments about Charlie Kirk’s death.
On his show her stated, “We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it.”
The comedian then proceeded to slam Trump’s response to the announcement of Kirk’s death.
