The clock on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is ticking, but it’s still going.
Stephen Colbert doesn’t let up on his jokes about President Donald Trump on Monday’s show, continuing to double down on the politician, less than two weeks after Colbert announced that the long-running late-night talk show would end in May.
In a preview of Monday’s monologue posted to Instagram, Colbert mocks Trump’s statement about Jeffrey Epstein, made during a meeting with U.K.
Prime Minister Keir Starmer: “By the way, I never went to the island,” Trump said. “I never had the privilege of going to his island.”

“I’m sorry, what?” Colbert says, before breaking into a Trump impression.
“Sadly, I never had the honor of dining with Jeffrey Dahmer.”
Trump’s full statement was that he declined an invitation from Epstein.
“I never had the privilege of going to his island, and I did turn it down, but a lot of people in Palm Beach were invited to his island,” Trump said, according to The New York Times.
“In one of my very good moments, I turned it down.”
Epstein, who died by suicide in 2019, allegedly used the two private islands he owned to traffic underage girls for sex.
Trump’s supporters and opponents are calling for him to release all information about Epstein, who was friendly with the president for years.
Colbert also poked fun at the reason Trump said he eventually parted ways with Epstein, whom he wouldn’t talk to after the American financier and child sex offender “did something that was inappropriate.”
Colbert says that, finally, Trump had shown “some moral backbone.”
The show then cuts to Trump noting that Epstein “stole people” who worked for him.
Colbert imitates Trump again: “Sorry, Jeff,” he quips. “Underage sex trafficking is one thing.
But I draw the line at you stealing my omelet man, okay? He’s the only one that knows I like ham.”
Trump also explained that he told Epstein not to hire people away from him again, but Epstein did, per the Times.
“And I threw him out of the place, persona non grata,” Trump said. “I threw him out, and that was it.”

Since his show was canceled, Colbert — and other hosts of late night — have roasted the president even more than usual.
In return, Trump has said that it’s “really good” to see Colbert go, and he hopes that he “played a major part in it.”
Without offering evidence, he claimed “the word is” that Jimmy Kimmel and then Jimmy Fallon would be ousted from late night, too.

💥 “NO CAMERAS. NO PRESS. JUST THREE NAMES THE WORLD THOUGHT THEY KNEW.” 🌪️ When the Category-5 monster Hurricane Melissa tore through Jamaica, help was nowhere in sight. Then — without a single announcement — a private jet touched down at dawn. Inside: Rachel Maddow. Stephen Colbert. Joy Reid. No sponsors. No cameras. No entourage. They brought 5 tons of food, medicine, water filters, and $1.5 million in aid, all paid from their own pockets. Locals said they worked through the night — lifting boxes, feeding children, treating wounds — not a single word about fame or press. And when a volunteer asked why they came, Joy Reid quietly answered: “Because the news doesn’t need to cover this — humanity does.” By morning, they were gone. No selfies. No headlines. Just whispers spreading across the island — “Were those really them?” Nobody knows who leaked the flight manifest. But one thing’s certain: this wasn’t charity. This was rebellion — against the silence of comfort. 🕯🌎 👇 Full uncovered story before it disappears…|KF
