Ellen DeGeneres’ UK move allowed her to “escape from a bruised brand,” according to a media expert.

The 67-year-old moved to the UK with her wife Portia de Rossi after Donald Trump’s re-election.

The relocation was originally planned to be a part-time move, but Ellen said they decided “we’re staying here” following fears about what the President could do in America.

The move also came after Ellen’s TV show was canceled following allegations she created a toxic workplace environment.

She has vehemently denied all of the accusations.

Media expert Michael Levine spoke to The Mirror US and suggested the UK move is a way for Ellen to move on from the shocking claims.

It comes after a bizarre internet image exposed how Trump looks without his fake tan and iconic hairdo.

“As a media expert, I believe Ellen DeGeneres’ relocation to the UK represents less a strategic career pivot and more an escape from a bruised brand in America,” Levine shared with us.

The expert continued, “The strong feeling in America currently is that Ellen’s career is like yesterday’s lunch — not very appealing.

While she was once one of the most beloved figures in American television, the end of her show amid controversy left a residue that audiences haven’t forgotten.”

Some fans have wondered if Ellen will revive her career in the UK, but Levine doesn’t believe that’s likely.

“The UK market might offer fresh opportunities, but television today is brutally competitive and far less forgiving than a decade ago,” he explained.

Levine added, “Reinvention is possible, but it would require more than a change of scenery; it would demand a compelling new format, a humility-driven narrative, and a cultural reset that resonates with both British and global audiences.

“Without those elements, I suspect her career revival will remain more hopeful than likely.”

His comments come after Ellen has spoken out about the President and said her move from America was centered around his re-election.

She admitted America can still be “scary for people to be who they are” following moves to abolish LGBTQ+ rights.

Last month, she was asked by broadcaster Richard Bacon if reports she left America because of Trump were true, to which she responded, “Yes.”

“We got here the day before the election and woke up to lots of texts from our friends with crying emojis, and I was like, ‘He got in’,” she said. “And we’re like, ‘We’re staying here’.”

Ellen seems happy with her decision and revealed she finds the UK “absolutely beautiful.”

She explained, “We’re just not used to seeing this kind of beauty.

The villages and the towns and the architecture – everything you see is charming and it’s just a simpler way of life.”
