NFL commissioner Roger Goodell stopped short of confirming whether or not Taylor Swift would perform at a Super Bowl halftime show, but did concede that it is a possibility

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell further stoked rumors that Taylor Swift could perform at a Super Bowl halftime show in the near future.
After announcing her new album, The Life Of A Showgirl, on the ‘New Heights’ podcast last month, droves of Swifties pinpointed several hints suggesting the pop icon might soon take the stage during the Big Game.
Swift’s engagement to Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, meanwhile, provided yet another wave of hope that the songstress could make a Super Bowl halftime appearance.
While stopping by the TODAY studio on Wednesday, Goodell insisted that the NFL would be more than happy to have Swift perform.
“We would always love to have Taylor play. She is a special, special talent, and obviously she would be welcome at any time,” he said.
Goodell stopped short of confirming if anything was “in the works,” upon being pressed by Savannah Guthrie, however, stating: “I can’t tell you anything about it.”
The 66-year-old didn’t rule out the possibility of a Swift halftime show, however, adding: “It’s a maybe.”
As for when fans can expect a decision from either the NFL or Swift, Goodell joked that it’s up of Jay-Z, whose company Roc Nation produces the Super Bowl halftime shows.
“I’m waiting on my friend Jay-Z,” he quipped. “It’s in his hands. I’m waiting for the smoke to come out.”
Back in 2023, Swift reportedly turned down the opportunity to perform at Super Bowl LVII in Las Vegas due to her already jampacked schedule.
At the time, she was in the thick of her highly-successful Eras Tour while also re-recording her early albums.
“Taylor is busy with her current tour,” an insider told the Daily Mail at the time.
“She has zero time to prepare a Super Bowl show, she will do it eventually, but she is in no rush at all to do it in Vegas or do it in the next couple of years.

“She knows she is at her peak in her career and each move from this point on is as important as the next.
Working on her current tour and recording her old music and working on new music and living life are taking up the majority of her time.”
“She knows she has all the time in the world, and she always reminds her team that Madonna was 53 when she finally did the show herself, so timing is everything.”
According to the source, Swift is in “no rush” to put on a halftime show, but is “leaning towards doing it in a few years, especially if the Super Bowl is in Nashville.”
“She knows she has all the time in the world, and she always reminds her team that Madonna was 53 when she finally did the show herself, so timing is everything,” they added.

💥 “NO CAMERAS. NO PRESS. JUST THREE NAMES THE WORLD THOUGHT THEY KNEW.” 🌪️ When the Category-5 monster Hurricane Melissa tore through Jamaica, help was nowhere in sight. Then — without a single announcement — a private jet touched down at dawn. Inside: Rachel Maddow. Stephen Colbert. Joy Reid. No sponsors. No cameras. No entourage. They brought 5 tons of food, medicine, water filters, and $1.5 million in aid, all paid from their own pockets. Locals said they worked through the night — lifting boxes, feeding children, treating wounds — not a single word about fame or press. And when a volunteer asked why they came, Joy Reid quietly answered: “Because the news doesn’t need to cover this — humanity does.” By morning, they were gone. No selfies. No headlines. Just whispers spreading across the island — “Were those really them?” Nobody knows who leaked the flight manifest. But one thing’s certain: this wasn’t charity.
