Love Island USA star Huda Mustafa came under fire after sharing her explanation for contacting villa connection Chris Seeley days before the reunion

Chris Seeley and Huda Mustafa connected on Love Island USA

Love Island USA fans have been coming down hard on Huda Mustafa before, and especially after the reunion show premiere on Monday.

Viewers tuned in to find out how life has been treating the cast of the hit Peacock reality television dating show since Season 7 drew to a close.

Huda was the target of much backlash after she claimed on the reunion show why she only decided to contact her villa connection, Chris Seeley, a couple of days before Monday’s episode.

According to the buxom black-haired beauty, shortly before the newest show, she began seeing “hate” geared toward Chris coming down her “Instagram” feed, which prompted her to call him.

However, Huda’s explanation was seen as an excuse by many on X, formerly Twitter.

Taking to X, one fan wrote,”Huda is a gotdamn LIAR!!! Claiming she only started seeing hate for Chris on her for you page 2 days before the reunion????? #LoveIslandUSA”

Chris Seeley admitted it was ‘weird’ seeing villa connection Huda Mustafa

A second said, “Huda didn’t reach out to Chris because he was getting hate; she reached out because she knew at the reunion she’d be getting her ass handed to her by damn near everyone! Girl, bye! It’s giving weird. #loveislandusa.”

A third shared, “Huda is waiting 2-3 days before the reunion to reach out to Chris and try to apologize. Babes, he aired you out, and you’re so calculated and weirddd omgg #LoveIslandUSA.”

A fourth social media user quipped, “Huda is reaching out to Chris three days before the reunion to try to ‘clear’ things up… LOL #LoveIslandUSA.”

A fifth scathed, “Of course Huda waited 2 days before the reunion to call and apologize to Chris….. gurrlll bye #LoveIslandUSA.”

Huda Mustafa caught flak online and at the reunion episode

Before addressing the phone call he had with Huda, the professional basketball player admitted it was “weird” being onstage with Huda, given how negatively she spoke about him during her controversial appearance on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast.

Although he was “happy” with how things “played out” between them, he didn’t “respect” how she slammed him in the media.

“I don’t respect it at all. No. I didn’t respect the way she handled herself on that interview and the things she said,” Chris said, referring to Huda’s CHD appearance.

“Even since then she’s had a month to apologize and talk to me about it, but she waited two or three days before today to try and reach out, and just kind of took that as like ‘I know what you’re doing’ it so like I can’t respect it,” he added, noting Huda giving him a phone call.

Amaya Espinal and Bryan Arenales were ultimately crowned winners after a drama-filled season 7 that saw the cast become one of the most talked-about in Love Island’s history.

Those making an appearance at the reunion included Huda Mustafa, Chris Seeley, Olandria Carthe, Nic Vansteenberghe, Iris Kendall, Pepe Garcia-Gonzalez, Amaya Espinal, Bryan Arenales, Chelley Bissainthe, Ace Greene, Taylor Williams, Clarke Carraway, Jeremiah Brown, Austin Shepard, Bell-A Walker, Chelley Bissainthe, Charlie Georgio, Hannah Fields, Andreina Santos, TJ Palma, Gracyn Blackmore, Jaden Dugger, Vanna Einerson, Coco Watson, and Elan Bibas.

Andy Cohen and Ariana Madix hosted the show, which was filmed in NYC on August 12.
