A new Taylor Swift era is coming.
The 14-time Grammy winner announced early Tuesday morning at exactly 12:12 on her Instagram that a new album is on the way.
She shared a video of herself on Travis and Jason Kelce’s podcast, “New Heights,” that her new 12th studio album is “The Life of a Showgirl.”
“So I wanted to show you something,” she tells them as she holds a briefcase in hand.
She unlocks the briefcase and takes out an album, which has been blurred.
“This is my brand new album,” she says. “The Life of a Showgirl.”
“TS12!” the brothers exclaim.

A countdown took place on Swift’s website leading up to the announcement. The backdrop was a glittery orange.
Text on screen also said that the countdown will expire on Aug. 12 at 12:12 a.m.
When the countdown reached zero, the site had crashed for many Swifties waiting for the news.
Earlier on Monday, the color was present in an announcement for Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce’s next “New Heights” podcast episode, in which they teased this week’s guest.
It was later revealed in a teaser video that Swift will, in fact, make a guest appearance on their show.
The episode will be released on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
Swift’s Taylor Nation fan page also shared 12 photos of the singer during her Eras Tour in orange outfits on social media. The post was released at 9:12 a.m.
“The Life of a Showgirl” follows Swift’s 11th studio album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” which was released on April 19, 2024.
The album came with a surprise for fans at 2 a.m. at the time, when Swift dropped an additional 15 songs.
“It’s a 2am surprise: The Tortured Poets Department is a secret DOUBLE album,” she wrote on social media.
“I’d written so much tortured poetry in the past 2 years and wanted to share it all with you, so here’s the second installment of TTPD: The Anthology. 15 extra songs. And now the story isn’t mine anymore… it’s all yours.”
Has she announced her next re-recorded album?
In May, the “Fortnight” singer announced that she had reclaimed her masters.
She shared a powerful letter on her website and said, “All of the music I’ve ever made… now belongs… to me.”
Leading up to that moment, Swift said she would be re-recording her albums to take ownership of the records that made her a household name.
She announced that she would do so on “Good Morning America” in 2019 amid her feud with music executive Scooter Braun.
The two had been at odds since Braun purchased Big Machine Label Group in 2019, Swift’s former record label, assuming the rights to her master recordings.
So far, she has released four re-recorded albums, including “Fearless (Taylor’s Version)” and “Red (Taylor’s Version)” in 2021, and “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)” and “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” in 2023.
She still had “Reputation” and her debut album to re-record and release.
When she announced that she had reclaimed her masters in May, she said in her letter that she hadn’t “re-recorded a quarter” of her “Reputation” album.
But she had “already re-recorded” her debut album in its entirety and said, “I really love how it sounds now.”
She added, “Those 2 albums can still have their moments to re-emerge when the time is right, if that would be something you guys would be excited about.”
“But if it happens, it won’t be from a place of sadness and longing for what I wish I could have. It will just be a celebration now,” she added.

💥 “NO CAMERAS. NO PRESS. JUST THREE NAMES THE WORLD THOUGHT THEY KNEW.” 🌪️ When the Category-5 monster Hurricane Melissa tore through Jamaica, help was nowhere in sight. Then — without a single announcement — a private jet touched down at dawn. Inside: Rachel Maddow. Stephen Colbert. Joy Reid. No sponsors. No cameras. No entourage. They brought 5 tons of food, medicine, water filters, and $1.5 million in aid, all paid from their own pockets. Locals said they worked through the night — lifting boxes, feeding children, treating wounds — not a single word about fame or press. And when a volunteer asked why they came, Joy Reid quietly answered: “Because the news doesn’t need to cover this — humanity does.” By morning, they were gone. No selfies. No headlines. Just whispers spreading across the island — “Were those really them?” Nobody knows who leaked the flight manifest. But one thing’s certain: this wasn’t charity.
