Donald Trump has lashed out at economist Paul Krugman, describing him as a ‘deranged bum’ and calling for New York Times to be sued.
This comes as Washington DC braces for a ‘big announcement’ from the President, who threatened to send in the National Guard to patrol the streets and clear homelessness out of the city.
Writing on his own social media platform Truth Social, the President wrote: “Paul Krugman of the New York Times has been predicting Doom and Gloom ever since my great election success in 2016.
“In other words, he has been wrong for YEARS, as ALL markets have been hitting new HIGHS, and are now higher than ever before.
People stayed out of the “BEST MARKET IN HISTOY” because of this Trump Deranged BUM. Sue them!”

Paul Krugman left the New York Times as an op-ed writer in December last year. On August 7 he published an article on his Substack arguing that Trump was “deluded.”
Slamming his trade policies, Krugman wrote: “Trump will be the last person to recognize that there are limits to his ability to bully the world, on trade or anything else. And that lack of awareness should worry us all.”
This comes ahead of a major White House news conference at 10am ET where the Preisdent is expected to announce an update to his plans for Washington DC.
He has promised new steps to tackle homelessness and crime in Washington, prompting the city’s mayor to voice concerns about the potential use of the National Guard to patrol the streets in the nation’s capital.

Trump sent the National Guard into Los Angeles
He said he wants to make the District of Columbia “safer and more beautiful than it ever was before.”
“The Homeless have to move out, IMMEDIATELY,” Trump wrote Sunday.
“We will give you places to stay, but FAR from the Capital.
The Criminals, you don’t have to move out. We’re going to put you in jail where you belong.”
Last week the Republican president directed federal law enforcement agencies to increase their presence in Washington for seven days, with the option “to extend as needed.”
On Friday night, federal agencies including the Secret Service, the FBI and the U.S.
Marshals Service assigned more than 120 officers and agents to assist in Washington.
Trump said last week that he was considering ways for the federal government to seize control of Washington, asserting that crime was “ridiculous” and the city was “unsafe,” after the recent assault of a high-profile member of the Department of Government Efficiency.
The moves Trump said he was considering included bringing in the D.C. National Guard.
The most recent concern over crime in Washington, DC came after a young member of Elon Musk’s former team at the Department of Government Efficiency was involved in an attempted carjacking.

💥 “NO CAMERAS. NO PRESS. JUST THREE NAMES THE WORLD THOUGHT THEY KNEW.” 🌪️ When the Category-5 monster Hurricane Melissa tore through Jamaica, help was nowhere in sight. Then — without a single announcement — a private jet touched down at dawn. Inside: Rachel Maddow. Stephen Colbert. Joy Reid. No sponsors. No cameras. No entourage. They brought 5 tons of food, medicine, water filters, and $1.5 million in aid, all paid from their own pockets. Locals said they worked through the night — lifting boxes, feeding children, treating wounds — not a single word about fame or press. And when a volunteer asked why they came, Joy Reid quietly answered: “Because the news doesn’t need to cover this — humanity does.” By morning, they were gone. No selfies. No headlines. Just whispers spreading across the island — “Were those really them?” Nobody knows who leaked the flight manifest. But one thing’s certain: this wasn’t charity. This was rebellion — against the silence of comfort. 🕯🌎 👇 Full uncovered story before it disappears…|KF
