Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has shed new light on the ongoing saga around Micah Parsons’ contract situation.
Jones went on Michael Irvin’s YouTube show on Thursday and made a series of claims about Parsons and his agent, although the remarks didn’t go unanswered for long.

Jerry Jones and Parsons have clashed over a new contract
“Nobody appreciates Micah Parsons more than the Cowboys or me,” Jones said.
“Nobody has ever offered him more money than I have to play football. Period.”
Jones then blamed Parsons’ agent, David Mulugheta, for a nearly-completed deal not being finalized back in March.
It leaves the All-Pro’s future in limbo just days away from the Cowboys’ Week 1 opener against the Philadelphia Eagles on September 4.
“I’ve agreed to give more money than has ever been given in terms of guaranteed money than anyone ever has as far as a defensive player,” Jones said.”I’ve done that. Now, I am the cat that writes the check. Now Micah’s got three years with the Cowboys left.
He’s got three years. At some point somebody has to have the say over the other. At some point it has to be that way.”
Since April, no new negotiations have taken place as Parsons’ future with the Cowboys becomes more uncertain.
The 26-year-old made a public trade request on August 1 after Jones attempted to turn a meeting about leadership into a contract negotiation.

Parsons made clear in a statement that no new deal would be signed without Mulugheta’s involvement.
However, it seems as though Mulugheta’s relationship with Jones is far from ideal.
The 82-year-old Cowboys owner claimed that Parson’s agent shared some unpleasant words when it came to a new deal.
“When we wanted to send the details to the agent, the agent told us to stick it up our a**,” Jones added. “Just so you’re clear.”
David Mulugheta responds to Jerry Jones
It didn’t take long for Mulugehta to get his version of events out into the public spehere.
ESPN’s Ryan Clark allegedly reached out to Mulugheta to ask if he actually told Jones to “stick it up our a**.”
“He laughed, Clark said, ‘I’ve never used that phrase in my life,’” Clark alleged Mulugheta told him.
“So for anyone who is reporting that, for Jerry Jones saying that, this is false. This never happened. This is just another public way to make this situation, which is already ugly, even uglier.
Dan Graziano outlines Jerry Jones and Micah Parsons’ fractured relationship and how Cowboys duo are heading for historic DIVORCE
“David Mulugheta in no way has ever told Jerry Jones or any other general manager or owner that. It’s all bull****, it’s all lies.”
Several hours later, Parsons seemingly deleted all Cowboys-related activity from his social media accounts.
Later, he posted a video on TikTok with the Allen Iverson “Ima win wherever I go” rant and photos of him appearing to wave goodbye.
Will Micah Parsons play for the Cowboys this year?
Jones, who’s faced criticism for his handling of contracts, claims he is content with letting Parsons play this season on the fifth-year option, which costs $21.3 million.
ESPN’s Dan Graziano told talkSPORT that Jones ‘seemed angry’ about the Parsons situation and that it has ‘got personal somehow’.
Meanwhile, new head coach Brian Scottenheimer is confident that Parsons will take to the field against the Eagles on September 7.
“We’ve really got three years to work this thing out,” Jones said.
“It’s a basic contract. It’s there to go. I did that with Dak [Prescott]. And we couldn’t agree, so Dak played his last year of his contract, then we franchised him.
“So it’s exactly what happened with Dak, and we moved forward, and ultimately we got a contract and made Dak the highest-paid player in the NFL.So the precedent is handling it like Dak. … If he doesn’t, it’s very costly. It’s very costly for everybody.”
