A former Denver Broncos star has apologized for his part in the error

FAKE quotes attributed to Micah Parsons caused an embarrassing mixup live on the Denver Broncos’ local broadcast of their 27-7 preseason victory over the Arizona Cardinals.
Parsons, 26, is locked in a contract dispute with the Dallas Cowboys and even demanded a trade earlier in training camp after months of unsuccessful extension talks.

Amid the uncertainty around his future there have been swirling rumours about where he could be playing his football if the Cowboys are unable to work out an extension.
However one of those rumours, centering around a move to the Broncos, was based off entirely fabricated quotes.
Unfortunately for the team at 9News, who were broadcasting the game locally, they were none the wiser to the legitimacy of the quotes when they put them up on screen and quoted them in-game.
The awkward moment displayed the quotes, which read: “My dream destination? Denver. I would love to play for the Broncos.
“They already got the best defense in the league and they have a real chance at a Super Bowl.”After the incident, former Broncos offensive tackle Ryan Harris, who won the Super Bowl with Denver in 2016, took to social media to hold his hands up and admit he was at fault for the false quotes slipping through the cracks.
He wrote: “Lesson learned: more diligence
“In the Broadcast of Broncos-Cardinals game I brought a tweet to the broadcast team that made the air that turned out to be fake.

“The post had graphics that quoted a remark that was attributed to Micah Parsons of the Dallas Cowboys. Regrettably, this remark was never spoken.
“I satisfied neither my own professional standards, nor those of the elite team at 9NEWS.
“Throughout my playing and broadcasting career I make it a point to learn from my mistakes. I have learned from this instance and will not make this mistake again.
“My sincere apologies to the NFL, 9News and the Denver Broncos. Read and Verify!”
As for Parsons’ actual future, it seems that it won’t be with the Broncos.
The defensive end is entering the fifth-year option of his rookie contract in Dallas and is set to make around $24million this season.
However, he could certainly be worth far more than that to the Cowboys after making 12 sacks and 43 tackles last season all while dealing with an ankle injury that limited him to just 13 games.
Parsons is now considered one of the best defensive players in the league, but Cowboys owner Jerry Jones isn’t in a rush to tie him down to a new deal.
Asked if there is a deadline on negotiations by ESPN’s Todd Archer, Jones said: “No, not at all. You don’t have deadlines when you’re playing under a contract.”
While he also claimed that he has no intention of honoring Parsons’ trade request.
Talking to reporters, he said: “I wouldn’t be standing here with you if I didn’t think we potentially had a great future with Micah [Parsons] We’re in good shape.”This is negotiation. But make no mistake about it, life has to go on if something happens to me or anybody else. Life does go on.”
