ESPN host Monica McNutt made a glaring mistake live on air.
During Friday’s episode of First Take, Stephen A. Smith and McNutt welcomed comedian Druski onto the show, who was wearing the jersey of Detroit Lions legend Barry Sanders.

Druski was wearing the jersey back to front, meaning Sanders’ name and number were facing towards McNutt.
The ESPN host, in a painfully awkward blunder, claimed he was wearing the jersey of Cleveland Browns rookie Shedeur Sanders.
It was a humiliating slip-up, not only because Lions’ jerseys are typically blue and white, but the fact Barry Sanders is an NFL legend and one of the greatest running backs in history.
“The jersey. Let’s get into it because this obviously ties to one Shedeur Sanders.” McNutt said to Druski.
Druski, awkwardly, interrupted her: “No, no no. This is Barry Sanders.”McNutt, who is more known for her basketball analysis, apologized for the mistake instantly, but that did not prevent the online backlash.
Popular media personality and Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy, who recently eviscerated Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, was among the harshest critics, as he took to X.

“This is next level stupid here,” he wrote on X while also posting the video.
Others were just as unforgiving.

“Was this part of a skit, or did she legitimately not know??”, one fan posted on X.
“This is nuts. blue jersey with the #20 and Sanders and she thought it was Shedeur. Like you could’ve guessed Deion and that would’ve been better lol,” another wrote.
“How did she not know that smh,” another added.
Others defended McNutt, claiming all she was trying to do was find a segue to talk about Shedeur.
“I know everyone is having fun dunking on Monica McNutt, but can we be honest for a second,” one fan began.
“Yes, she made a poor segue trying to link Shedeur & Barry Sanders, but she never “confused Druski’s Barry Sanders jersey for a Shedeur jersey” like all of these posts are saying.”
For most NFL fans, Barry Sanders’ jersey is nothing short of iconic.
The 57-year-old played ten seasons for the Lions between 1989 and 1998.
In 1997, he was the NFL’s MVP to add to his two Offensive Player of the Year awards, the first in 1994 and the second in ’97.
Sanders is also a 10x Pro Bowler and made the NFL’s 100th Anniversary All-Time team.
Meanwhile, Sheduer, son of Dallas Cowboys legend Deion Sanders, is currently looking to establish himself as an NFL starter.
The rookie is currently injured after impressing on his Browns debut against the Carolina Panthers last week.
The Cleveland Browns have an intense quarterback battle on their hands with six signal callers on the roster: Sanders, Dillon Gabriel, Kenny Pickett, Joe Flacco, Tyler Huntley, and Deshaun Watson.
Fellow rookie Gabriel enjoyed a strong Browns debut against the Philadelphia Eagles on Saturday, although he made headlines for non-football reasons after his “entertainers” and “competitors” comments which many deemed to be a dig at Sanders.
