The 72-year-old mother of Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce and NFL alum Jason Kelce has not had a shortage of things to watch this month.
At the red carpet premiere for ESPN’s The Kingdom docuseries on Sunday, Aug. 24, Donna exclusively told PEOPLE that she watched her sons’ New Heights podcast episode featuring Travis’ superstar girlfriend, Taylor Swift.
“I did watch the podcast … and I think it was just really, really eventful,” Donna tells PEOPLE of the Aug. 13 episode in which Swift, 35, revealed the album art for her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, kissed her boyfriend, shared her “obsession” with baking sourdough bread and teared up when talking about regaining the rights to her music.
“It was authentic. It was just something I think everybody was thrilled to see, and it was a very loving podcast,” Donna adds.

Swift’s New Heights episode with Travis, 35, and Jason, 37, has attracted more than 20 million views, surpassing Jason’s wife Kylie Kelce’s episode as the most-viewed New Heights episode ever.
At Sunday’s The Kingdom premiere, Ed Kelce, the Kelce patriarch, also weighed in on the podcast episode.
“Oh, it was good. It was awesome. … They’re two people obviously very much in love,” he tells PEOPLE.
Kristen Lappas, the director of The Kingdom, told reporters on Saturday, Aug. 23, that Swift was “very supportive” of the six-part docuseries, which chronicles the Chiefs’ legacy and 2024 season.
Lappas also said that Swift, who has been dating Travis since 2023, is featured in the project and that she “approved all of her image and likeness.” She also shared that they did not pursue an interview with Swift.
Chiefs executive Lara Krug explained that “you see [Swift] in the way that I think is how she wanted to be seen, which is as a fan of the community.”
All episodes of The Kingdom are available to stream on ESPN+.
