Micah Parsons’ trade stunned the NFL Thursday — and nobody was more shocked than Dallas Cowboys legend Michael Irvin.
The Hall of Fame wideout made a personal guarantee on ESPN at 4:59 pm Eastern that there was no way his former franchise would let the superstar pass rusher leave.
Michael Irvin delivers stunning Micah Parsons U-turn moments after guaranteeing Cowboys stay

Parsons is a huge boost to Green Bay’s Super Bowl ambitions
A minute later, Parsons was a Green Bay Packer.
Two first-round picks and Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kenny Clark headed the other way.
Irvin couldn’t believe what he was hearing.
“Oh my God, I can’t believe this, I’ve been here all day. I cannot believe that we just traded Micah Parsons,” he said during his interview.
Fans — especially from the rival Philadelphia Eagles — were loving life in the replies as the video quickly went viral. One asked. “Do we have an update on that guarantee?”
“Who’s gonna find Michael Irvin to give him a hug,” joked a second.
“Aged like expired milk,” wrote a third.
Irvin regrouped and released a YouTube video where he discussed the trade, claiming that Parsons lost out despite his huge payday due to his podcast, The Edge.
“Micah’s the loser,” he insisted.

Irvin got a brutal reality check live on air

Jerry and Stephen Jones tried to appease fans
The Cowboys icon is well aware that his comments are likely to raise a few eyebrows after Parsons landed $136 million in guarantees to become the highest-paid non-QB in NFL history.
But he doubled down on his position.
“He had so much in store for him if he had stayed with the Dallas Cowboys,” Irvin added.
“I want you to watch and come back to me later and see if he lost $100 million dollars in his podcast deal.
“I wanna see the kind of attention his podcast gets now. I’m hurt for Micah and I say he’s the biggest loser because he had so much more, not just this deal, so much more out there for him beyond this deal if he stayed at the most visible franchise in professional sports.
“Man, I’m just hurt for him.”
Jerry Jones defends Micah Parsons trade
Irvin is firmly on the Cowboys bandwagon, with owner Jerry Jones convinced he got a deal deal — something fans are not sure about.
“This was a move to get us successful in the playoffs,” Jones said in a 46-minute news conference aiming to appease supporters, during which he got the edge rusher’s name wrong.
“This was a move to be better on defense, stopping the run. This was a move to, if we get behind, not be run on. And it was a deliberate move, a well-thought-out move to make this happen.
“In our judgement, this gives us a better chance to be a better team than we have been the last several years.”
Jerry’s son and executive vice president Stephen is also pleased.
“Kenny Clark is a big part of this,” said the younger Jones. “That was a big part of winning right now.
“We hadn’t been able to win the big games in the playoffs, and we think it is a direct connection to not being able to stop the run.
“And we think Kenny Clark is going to be a big piece to that.
“We felt like, because of our depth on the edge, as well as the ability to scheme pressure, that we could make up for Micah because obviously he’s elite at rushing the passer.”
The Cowboys executives were not very subtle with their barbs at Parsons, who fired one of his own back.
It could take months to find out who won the trade but if Parsons helps the Packers give franchise quarterback Jordan Love a championship defense, Jerry’s World will not be a happy place.
