The Pittsburgh Steelers brought Aaron Rodgers to the team with the idea of winning a Super Bowl. However, head coach Mike Tomlin has given another reason as to why the team can go all the way.

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin looks on before the game against the Tennessee Titans at Acrisure Stadium on November 02, 2023.
Mike Tomlin already won a Super Bowl with the Pittsburgh Steelers but it’s been a while since they’ve had any postseason success.
Acquiring Aaron Rodgers goes a long way, but the head coach is pointing to other stuff that will also help the team to make a run for the Lombardi.
Tomlin spoke to WDVE this week and highlighted how the defense might have the potential to be one of the best.
“We’ve got to write that story. We’ve got enough talent, we’ve got enough schematics to do big, big things.
When I say big things, I’m talking about historic things.”
Those are big words from one of the boldest coaches in the NFL. Historically, the Steelers are known for their defense.
However, last time they were in the playoffs, the Ravens put a pounding on Pittsburgh, racking up 299 rushing yards.
Even if Aaron Rodgers can put points on the board, he can’t play defense to stop the opponents.
The Steelers defense is filled with elite talent
There are quite some names on this roster that might perfectly end up in the Hall of Fame.
The edge rusher T.J. Watt is back after another big-time season.
He has six double-digit sack seasons in the last seven years.
The roster also has defensive end Cam Heyward.
While Heyward is in the middle of a contract dispute, he is fresh off an All Pro season, which is his fourth career selection.
The Steelers also selected defensive end Derrick Harmon with their first pick.

T.J. Watt is the Steelers best player on defense
Adding to that, Tomlin and company brought two Super Bowl champions and former All Pros to the roster. New cornerbacks Darius Slay and Jalen Ramsey will upgrade their secondary massivel
Tomlin and the Steelers have a big playoff debt
Mike Tomlin has reached two Super Bowls and won one of them.
This alone will put him in the Hall of Fame one day, however, it’s been a while.
The Steelers haven’t won a single playoff game since 2018.
After that, they’ve never been able to progress further from the Wild Card round.
Despite always finishing above .500 under Tomlin, the actual debt is playing January football to the highest level.
For the last few years, they’ve been a one-and-done franchise in the postseason.
