Diana Bojorquez, wife of Cleveland Browns kicker Corey Bojorquez, spoke with PEOPLE about the unusual decision she had to make while filling out her daughter’s emergency contact forms

Diana Bojorquez is sharing an unusual problem of NFL life — and the equally unusual solution she came up with to solve it.

The wife of Cleveland Browns kicker Corey Bojorquez, who has two daughters, both under the age of three, frequently creates content online about her life as a mother of two and wife to an NFL player.

In a recent post to her account, she let followers in on an interesting decision she had to make in order to fill out her daughter’s school forms.

She begins the video, “Tell me your husband plays in the NFL without telling me your husband plays in the NFL.”

She goes on to explain that, as the NFL pre-season draws to a close and the regular NFL season starts, her toddler, who is starting school next week, was in need of an emergency contact for her school forms.

“We don’t have any family out here where he plays in Ohio,” says Diana, who is from Hawaii originally, as she weighed who would be a good option to list in case she or her husband were unavailable.

“And we don’t really have friends outside of football just because we get so busy.”

So, Diana turned to the people that she did know in the city: the Cleveland Browns security team.

“I know that in the case where they can’t reach me or my husband, they will pick up their phones,” she laughed.

Continuing on, she even weighed the likelihood that the security team might have access to her husband when she wouldn’t, saying, “They will have access to him when I probably won’t even have access to him, like if he’s in a meeting or something.”

Speaking with PEOPLE, Diana says that such decisions and situations are common in NFL life, as players are often on the move for away games, and even spend time in different cities during the off-season, making it hard to put down roots and establish connections.

“You don’t necessarily always have family where you’re living, nor do you really build a village just because, I mean, they’re so busy during season,” she explains to PEOPLE.

“And they’re gone a lot. So you’re kind of alone a lot. You don’t have time to be going out and making friends.

And then off-season comes around, and usually a lot of guys dip. So we don’t get to necessarily build a huge village around us.”

Diana’s mom lives in Hawaii — a six-hour time difference from where they spend the regular NFL season in Cleveland — and Corey’s parents reside in California, meaning that, in the event of an emergency, they wouldn’t necessarily be helpful.

The couple had initially put down another friend, who lived a little bit farther away, but Diana had hesitations, which she expressed to her husband.

“He’s like, ‘Just put down Cleveland Browns security, the head security’s number,’” Diana says. “He’s amazing.

And he always has his phone on him, always on loud. He’s definitely the type of guy, when I was pregnant and they were away for a game and I thought I was going to go into labor, he’s for sure the number I would’ve called to reach Corey. So we’ve put him down for our emergency contact for everything, even for me as a secondary contact.”

Diana says that other NFL wives and mothers have praised her idea, “I do have some friends that have been past teammates here that are now on other teams have mentioned like, ‘Oh my gosh, that’s such a great idea. I never thought about that.’

Even some wives that I’ve never met before but are in the league, they’ve come to me like, ‘Oh my gosh, it’s a great idea.

I never thought about that. Definitely going to do that.’”

“I know security teams for NFL [teams] are about to be a little bit busier,” she jokes.

While Diana knows that NFL life can look glamorous on the outside, she also shares that there are some considerations that are less so.

She recounts the time that her husband was with the Los Angeles Rams for a pre-season, and the couple had been expecting to receive an offer for him to play on the team. They were newly married and had just bought a house to be near Corey’s parents in California.

“It was our first night in,” she recalls. “We were out at dinner, and we get a call from the L.A. Rams general manager. And he was like, “We’re going to trade you.’”

Diana says that they spent one night in their new house, and the next day Corey was on a flight to Green Bay, Wisc.

“‘I had to pack up everything. I had to drive out cross-country with his truck, with our two dogs,” she says. “And it just makes me think, because I’m like, I feel like people don’t realize how quick, if you get traded, you have to leave. They literally give you, not even 24 hours, you’re on a flight the next day.”

A friend of Diana’s, she says, is dealing with a similar situation right now.

“They have a son, and I just saw they have a house there that they just started renting,” she says. “And then he got traded. And I’m like, I just can’t imagine because I know he’s on a flight out there today, and she’s got a kid with her.”

The next item on their agenda to figure out? Whether to homeschool their daughter when they move out of Cleveland to Colorado for the off-season.

“You just never know,” Diana tells PEOPLE. “You never know where you’re going to be in the NFL. You could be cut so fast. You can be signed. So it’s a wild ride, but we’re definitely grateful.”
