The Indianapolis Colts have made a decision.

Moving on from a former No. 4 pick just 15 games into his career seems harsh, but Anthony Richardson’s tape was less than encouraging, to say the least.

However, this team won’t have a margin for error now.

At least, that’s how Louis Riddick feels.

Talking on ESPN’s “Get Up,” he stated that failing to take this team to the next level could cost plenty of people their jobs, especially now that there’s a new ownership in place.

That makes perfect sense, as the Colts are pretty much blaming Richardson for their lack of success in the past couple of years.Shane Steichen had already proved himself when he worked with Justin Herbert and Jalen Hurts.

He orchestrated an explosive offense with the Philadelphia Eagles.

More than that, he even kept the team afloat when Gardner Minshew took over at quarterback for the injured Richardson.

That’s just to say that there’s a legitimate chance that the Colts will be much more of a threat without Richardson, even with Daniel Jones behind center.

The fact that Steichen kept the team alive in postseason contention with Minshew at the helm also speaks volumes about how much of a negative impact Richardson made when he was on the field.

But now that he’s no longer the starter, it will be hard to point the finger at someone else.

Granted, Jones isn’t an elite quarterback by any means, but with the supporting cast he has, this team has to be better.
