Brother Shilo was not so fortunate and wound up being cut by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after getting ejected for throwing a punch in a game against the Buffalo Bills.

The NFL has fined Shedeur’s elder brother $4,669 for his role in the melee and it isn’t clear whether he will get another shot in the NFL.

Shedeur Sanders fighting for NFL future

Shedeur’s attitude was cited as a potential reason why he fell to the fifth round of April’s NFL Draft, but aside from two speeding offenses, he has come across well during his time in Cleveland.

“I’ll be honest with you, I’ve never seen what Shedeur Sanders is doing this early on in a player’s career,” Cecil Shorts said on Cleveland’s 92.3 The Fan.

“I’ve never seen that before, I’ve never seen a rookie come into the league and before he even played a snap is already in the Garden Valley Projects.

“All the things he’s doing (in the community). It’s a special thing he’s doing, that’s not normal.”

Shedeur’s attitude on the field has been to shut out the noise and keep grinding.

With the Browns infamous for going through quarterbacks at a breakneck rate, he may well get a shot this season if he keeps his head down.

Shilo’s path is more murky as the Bucs didn’t exactly move mountains to sign him to their practice squad.

Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio noted that Tampa Bay gave the safety a $1,572 guarantee for the preseason when picking him up following the draft.

“Safety Shilo Sanders is not back with the team after being waived earlier this week,” he added.

“There was word that the team had not closed the door on Sanders and teams often make changes to their practice squads, but it may be telling that they weren’t in any rush to keep Sanders from other teams.”Shilo was fighting to be part of a deep secondary, and making the roster was always a long shot. He has remained positive and revealed that Deion has always made sure football was not his only talent.

“Sanders began his career as a three-star signee at South Carolina before following his father to Jackson State and then Colorado,” wrote CBS Sports’ Brad Crawford.

“Sanders was competing in fall camp and during the preseason in a deep secondary for the Buccaneers and would’ve likely been a roster casualty regardless of his ejection in last week’s finale.”

As for Deion, a new era without Shedeur under center and Travis Hunter starring on both sides of the ball started badly.
He will have a shot at turning things around against the Delaware Fightin’ Blue Hens at Folsom Field Saturday.
