Maye is preparing to lead the Patriots against the Seattle Seahawks at Super Bowl LX next month.

The 23-year-old has just over a week to prove his fitness for the game.

Both were required to submit projected injury reports Wednesday ahead of Thursday’s first practice.

Maye was included as a limited participant on the Patriots list.

He is struggling with a banged-up right shoulder and has admitted to having “bumps and bruises” ahead of the February 8 showdown.

Maye downplayed any serious injury concerns after Sunday’s win over the Broncos.

In the third quarter, at the end of a 13-yard run, he was tackled by Broncos safety Talanoa Hufanga.

Maye landed hard on his right shoulder but was able to keep playing through the pain.

“A lot of those guys in that locker room are battling through things,” he told WEEI.

“I’m feeling good. Going to get some extra rest.

“I really don’t think [my shoulder] was from the game, but just the build-up from throwing.

“Including training camp, I’ve done 30 weeks of straight of throwing, four days a week.

“It can add up. I got some extra rest, feeling good, and ready to go for the Super Bowl.”

Maye went 10-of-21 for 86 yards and was sacked five times in Sunday’s game.

He rushed 10 times for 65 yards and a touchdown in a game heavily affected by snow.

Starting linebacker Robert Spillane (ankle) and veteran edge rusher Harold Landry (knee) were both included on the Patriots injury report.

Neither player would have practiced on Wednesday.
