Indiana star Elijah Sarratt surprised Mendoza with a $20,000 just a day before the big CFP title game.
The star wide receiver reached out to jewelers ShopGLD to find a present for Mendoza as a token of appreciation for getting the Hoosiers to the championship game, per TMZ Sports.
The 22-year-old Mendoza was shown on video receiving his gift as Sarrat put the watch on his wrist.
Indiana teammates watched on as Mendoza was all smiles.
The watch had “approximately 2,500 hand-set stones” and cost $20,000, the outlet added.
It’s believed that Sarratt also bought himself a GLD pendant and chain valued at $35,000.
Sarratt transferred to Indiana in 2024 and developed plenty of chemistry on the field this season.
He and Mendoza combined for 15 touchdowns and 802 yards as the team went 15-0 for the season.
Mendoza went on to grab the prestigious Heisman Trophy, among other awards, and guide the Hoosiers to the championship game.
He is expected to be selected by the Las Vegas Raiders with the first overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Raiders minority owner Tom Brady was in attendance to watch Mendoza amaze in a crucial fourth-down play.
In the fourth quarter play, Mendoza dove for a touchdown on fourth-and-5 with his team holding just a three-point lead.
Mendoza didn’t wow in the stat sheet, completing 16 of 27 passes for 186 yards and a rushing touchdown.
But Mendoza didn’t turn the ball over once against a tough Hurricanes defense, showing the quarterback-needy Raiders that he’s their guy.
