“Before I say thanks to God, I’m going to say ICE out,” he said.
“We’re not savages, we’re not animals, we’re not aliens – we’re humans.
“The hate gets more powerful with more hate.
“The only thing that’s more powerful than hate is love, so, please, we need to be different.
“If we fight, we have to do it with love.”
NFL commissioner Goodell was asked about Bad Bunny’s stance on ICE at his Super Bowl press conference Monday.
“Bad Bunny is one of the great artists in the world and that’s one of the reasons we chose him,” Goodell said.
“He also understands the platform and this platform is used to unite people and bring people together with their creativity and talents.
“I think Bad Bunny understands that and will have a great performance.”
His selection for the halftime show has proved controversial.
President Donald Trump has been among the most vocal critics of the pick.
“I don’t know who he is,” Trump told Newsmax.
“I don’t know why they’re doing it. It’s crazy. And then they blame it on some promoter they hired to pick up entertainment.
“I think it’s absolutely ridiculous.”
