Sources confirm the gunman who shot Jets CB Kris Boyd in NYC has been charged with attempted murder — a shocking escalation in a story of violence that has rattled fans, the league, and the city, sending shockwaves through the NFL community.

The suspected gunman in the shooting of Jets cornerback Kris Boyd was charged with attempted murder Tuesday, cops said.

Frederick Green, 20, was picked up in Buffalo Monday after cops tracked his vehicle, a gray Mercedes that is registered to his girlfriend, law enforcement sources said.

Green also faces charges of assault and criminal possession of a weapon in the pre-dawn Nov. 16 violence that left 29-year-old Boyd shot in the stomach outside Asian fusion restaurant Sei Less on West 38th Street near Seventh Avenue, cops said.

The suspected shooter said nothing as detectives escorted him out of the Midtown South Precinct in Manhattan on Tuesday afternoon to be brought to criminal court for an arraignment. And once he arrived at court, he kept his head hung low with his hood pulled up.

Boyd was hospitalized after being shot in the stomach in the altercation.

Boyd was out on the town with Gang Green linebacker Jamien Sherwood, wide receiver Irvin Charles and a pal from Texas when a group began to “chirp” at his crew about their fancy duds outside the hotspot, NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny previously said.

Boyd’s group went into the restaurant, but only stayed for five-to-10 minutes because the “vibe” was off, the chief said.

“They’re not feeling it,” Kenny said. “They decide to leave. As they’re walking back outside, once again, they were encountered by the same group of male blacks who begin to verbally insult them, once again, questioning their clothing and asking [if] they think that they’re better than us.”

That’s when a gunman shot Boyd, leaving a bullet lodged in his lung — before the shooter ran off and was picked up by a white BMW, according to the chief.

The footballer was initially listed in critical but stable condition — but just days later posted a promising update on his Instagram that he was breathing on his own.

“God is real, God is powerful!” Boyd wrote, alongside a photo of himself smiling from his hospital bed.

The improvement was temporary, though — several days later, he told his social media followers that he’d been released from care for some time but had to return to the hospital “due to my health issues” and couldn’t be in contact.

Boyd, a 5-foot-11 defensive back for Gang Green, joined the team this year after coming up with the Minnesota Vikings before the 2019 season. He has also spent time with the Arizona Cardinals and the Houston Texans.

But even before the shooting, he suffered a shoulder injury during pre-season practice and has been on the field this season.

Green, of the Bronx, has four prior busts on his record – but most are sealed, including raps from earlier this year for unlawful possession of personal identification and criminal possession of a controlled substance, sources said.

Green has four prior arrests on his record.

He was arrested as an adolescent offender in 2024 for reckless endangerment, and had a sealed juvenile arrest in 2018 for robbery, the sources said.
A CrimeStoppers tip, combined with surveillance footage, helped give investigators a lead on the elusive suspect, according to the sources.

Kenny also told reporters late last month that a pricey watch was recovered from the scene of the shooting — but it wasn’t clear what, if any, link the timepiece had to the gun violence.

“It’s a $185,000 watch that nobody has laid claim to, none of the Jet players, so we’re still looking into that aspect,” Kenny said. “But at no point did anybody announce a robbery or try to steal anything from the Jet players.”

Sei Less, an Asian-fusion eatery, has been a popular spot for celebrities, including hip-hop and music stars.

The restaurant said in a statement at the time that the shooting happened outside the premises after it was closed.

“Since the onset of the police investigation, we have been fully cooperative with law enforcement and shared the appropriate security footage to assist their inquiry,” the statement said.
