There are camp fights, and then there’s whatever the hell just took place between the Seattle Seahawks and Green Bay Packers.
An all-out brawl broke out during the joint practice between Seattle and Green Bay that saw multiple punches get thrown.
Green Bay Packers & Seattle Seahawks practice descends into ‘war’ with HUGE fight
Packers lineman Zach Tom and Seahawks linebacker Ernest Jones IV looked to be the two players to set it off as they exchanged punches with one another before the rest of the teams made their way into the scrum.Notable NFL media member Kay Adams couldn’t believe what she had just watched.
“Biggest camp fight I’ve ever seen,” Adams wrote on X.
It’s hard to blame either side — camp fights aren’t unusual, but this one was especially massive.
It’s that time of year, when the days are long and all anyone is looking forward to is the regular season. It’s late August. It’s hot. The players are tired, and the last thing they want is nonsense from another team in practice.
Well, tell that to Tom and Jones IV. Tempers flared and boiled over.
One observer said the Packers right tackle looked like he was ‘going to war.’
After practice, Tom explained what was going through his head during the heated moment, and that he was proud how his teammates defended one another.
“I saw Tucker, he got in there and Messiah (Swinson) got in there. It was pretty much the whole offense got in there,” Tom said.

“It’s cool to know that everybody’s got each other’s back. Obviously, maybe it would be better if we found that out in different ways, but it is what it is.”
One man who wasn’t pleased with any of it, specifically with the Green Bay players coming over to Seattle’s sideline, was Seahawks defensive lineman Leonard Williams.
“I didn’t appreciate in general them coming to our sideline, when practice was over,” Williams said.
“We already broke the huddle. Our guys are on our side, their guys are on their side. It’s hard with these joint practices because stuff like that always happens. You don’t want it to happen but it just happens.
“We try to avoid it as much as possible, but I didn’t appreciate it.”
Williams was then asked what he saw from his point of view when the fight broke out but he said he was too far on the sideline to see much.
He ran out on the field to help break it up.
As he alluded to, that’s just the nature of joint practices. One Packer in particular echoed Williams’ sentiment as well.
“Joint practice always has been productive because you’re still getting good work,” cornerback Keisean Nixon said.
“The fights, it just is what it is, but you’re still working. You’re still going against other competition in like a physical setting that you’re not gonna usually get versus your own teammates, especially during the season.”
The two teams play one another on Saturday, with starters from both sides presumably out as the regular season is right around the corner. The Packers host the back-to-back NFC North champion Lions, while the Seahawks welcome their hated division rival 49ers, with both games kicking off the season on Sept. 7.
