When it comes to potentially having a son, Jason Kelce has a, “What will be will be,” mindset.
The New Heights podcast host and retired NFL star appeared on the newest episode of the Bussin’ with the Boys podcast, where he revealed whether he and wife Kylie Kelce are still hoping for a boy after welcoming four daughters together.
“I mean, listen, if a boy happened, that would be fun,” said Jason, 37. “But I think at the end of the day, I say what my dad always said: We’re very blessed to have four healthy, smart, charismatic, amazing children, and I would not trade any of that for a second.”
He continued, “I wanted three kids early on. I always felt like [younger brother Travis Kelce] and I always wanted one more sibling;
it felt like [that] would’ve been ideal. And Kylie said she wanted five. So we’re at four now, and I think we’ll see. That might be it.”
Jason and Kylie, 33, got married in April 2018 and went on to welcome daughters Wyatt Elizabeth, 5, Elliotte Ray, 4, Bennett Llewellyn, 2, and Finnley “Finn” Anne, 5 months.
Ahead of Finn’s birth, Kylie resisted the idea that she and the former Philadelphia Eagles center should have a boy on the Sunday Sports Club podcast with Allison Kuch, calling it one of the “most infuriating” statements she’s heard from others.
“People put this strange pressure on the idea that my husband is supposed to have a boy because ‘He’s going to follow in his footsteps, and he’s going to be a football player, and he needs to play catch in the yard,’ ” Kylie said in January.
She added, “I hate to break it to you, but our kids play catch with him all the time. He’s fine.”

Kylie also said that she thought it was “crazy that people feel inclined [to ask] if we would still try for a boy” while she was pregnant with their fourth daughter, and added that she and Jason were good with having girls and “got what we’re supposed to.”
“I would have had a slight amount of disappointment had this baby been a boy,” she continued.
“When you’re three deep in girls and if you now have a boy, that poor child is going to be dressed up by his sisters and used as their baby doll.”
On Bussin’ with the Boys, Jason admitted that he and his wife have been “bringing up the V word,” a.k.a. a vasectomy, “more than ever.”
“Once we’re done [having kids] for sure, I’m definitely getting it done,” he said. “I think we’re still kind of in that [phase of], ‘Are we done or are we just figuring it out?’ ”
