CONOR McGREGOR aimed a brutal Christmas dig at Jake Paul – who is nursing a broken jaw over the festive period.

YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul had his jaw broken in two places by AJ – who won their Miami mismatch in round six.

But Paul, dropped four times, posted: “God is great. Broken jaw but brain and spine all clear. Never been more motivated.

“Merry Christmas to all around the world. Never stop trying to be great. You are guaranteed 100% failure if you don’t try.”

McGregor, a long-time online rival of Paul’s, responded in a now-deleted post: “Indeed! God is great! Enjoy your Christmas smoothies, bro.”

Paul had surgery on his jaw right after defeat to Joshua – having four titanium plates fitted and teeth removed.

But he was restricted to eating “only liquids for seven days”.

Paul struggled to talk as he made an appearance on brother Logan’s podcast after being released from hospital.

He said: “It’s like there’s a baseball in there. Four titanium plates. It’s literally snapped, bro, completely snapped.”

Paul was down twice in round five before a devastating right hand in the sixth closed the show.

But the American was still in good spirits days later, telling brother Logan: “I was like, ‘Wow, that was nice’.

“I was on the ground like, ‘That was a good shot’. He surprised my jaw. I mean, it’s not that hard to get your ass beat.

“I was doing good, I just think my cardio, just the mental pressure of the big guy and sparring the big people is different on the 10oz gloves.

“But it was a great experience, I learnt a lot in there.”

Paul, 28, is expected to be out until at least July while Joshua, 36, is set for a Riyadh return in February or March.

A September showdown against Tyson Fury, 37, is then touted for next September at Wembley.
