James has already had one run-in with Brooks this month

LEBRON James grabbed an official while on-court for the Los Angeles Lakers in a remarkable meltdown.

The 40-year-old has completely lost his cool after a run-in with Phoenix Suns star Dillon Brooks, 29.

James suffered a meltdown after seemingly being pushed by Brooks during the third quarter yesterday.

NBA veteran James had to be held back by Lakers teammate Rui Hachimura, 27, as he confronted Brooks.

However, Brooks walked away from the heated spat as the four-time NBA champion angrily shouted.

Brooks had already been handed a technical foul for an incident with James earlier in the game.

The scenes turned increasingly ugly as a referee walked over to move James away.

But the Lakers forward appeared to grab the official and continued to scream in his face.

This is not the first time that the pair have come to blows this season.

Suns star Brooks repeatedly mocked James during their win against the Lakers earlier in December.

It has been a tough start to the 2025-26 NBA season for the decorated Lakers star.

He was forced to miss the start of the Lakers’ campaign after suffering an extended injury blow.

James was then dropped to the franchise’s G League affiliate the South Bay Lakers as he progressed towards his NBA return.

The veteran finally made his return in November against the Utah Jazz.

However, it has been a disappointing return for the NBA icon.

Several fans have called for the legend to retire after failing to record double digits against the Toronto Raptors.

Veteran James is yet to make his final retirement decision after a 23-year NBA career.

He recorded an improved 26-point haul against the Suns as the Lakers claimed a 116-114 win.

But James is expected to face a harsh punishment from the NBA for his actions.

The Lakers will return to action against the Jazz on Thursday, December 18.
