Tez Johnson’s former fiancée is alleging the Buccaneers wide receiver was unfaithful to her in one of the most hurtful ways imaginable.

Laila Thompson-Wainer, a Seahawks part-time staffer, took to TikTok this week to tell her 200,000-plus followers in a nearly five-minute video that Johnson cheated on her the same day he got engaged to her one year ago.

 

 

 

Thompson-Wainer said on Feb. 21, 2025, Johnson planned out a huge day for her that included a trip to a reptile zoo, a romantic marriage proposal, a beach photoshoot and then sushi dinner.

Thompson-Wainer said she was giddy over the day she had with the former Oregon star (who’s the adopted brother of Bo Nix) — until she claimed she found out he cheated on her during the morning and night.

 

 

 

Thompson-Wainer showed a text message that she said Johnson sent to his ex-girlfriend prior to the couple getting their day started.

“Need your throat,” it allegedly read.

Over 12 hours later, after the two had returned from their engagement, Thompson-Wainer alleged Johnson again texted his ex, this time asking her when the two could hook up.

“For some reason,” she said, “you cheat before and after you propose, the morning of and the night — that’s just something that I will never understand. I’ve given up on trying to understand how someone can be that evil.

“I think you just have to be a sociopath. And that’s just it at the end of the day.”

 

 

 

Thompson-Wainer went on to say she hoped her story would help women dealing with similar situations.

“If I had to have the devil in disguise as a fiancé, and I had to go through that, then let me utilize the blueprint of a bad, s—ty man to promote conversations about healing and create a community of women. That is what I want to do.”

Johnson, 23, was selected by Tampa Bay in the seventh round of the 2025 NFL Draft and logged 322 receiving yards and five touchdowns on 28 catches in his rookie campaign.
