Mahomes Sr., a former MLB star, pleaded guilty to DWI in August 2024.
It followed multiple DUI convictions, with the 55-year-old handed a five-year probation order.
Mahomes Sr. is facing up to 10 years in prison over the violation, per TMZ.
The probation violation report seen by the outlet states he had a high alcohol reading on his alcohol ankle monitor on Jan. 1.
Mahomes Sr. submitted urine tests on January 5 and 9, both of which came back negative for alcohol.
Prosecutors claim he failed to perform his community service at the required rate for a number of months.
A a former pitcher for the New York Mets, Mahomes Sr. remained in Smith County jail in Tyler on Wednesday.
He is scheduled to appear in court next on March 9.
The judge has ordered Mahomes Sr. to remain in the Smith County Jail until that hearing, according to the Daily Mail.
As such, he will be in jail for this Sunday’s Super Bowl LX from Santa Clara.
Mahomes Sr. was arrested for DWI on the eve of his son’s fourth Super Bowl appearance two years ago.
He was previously arrested for the same offense in 2008 and 2019.
A former Major League Baseball pitcher, Mahomes Sr. played for six teams during an 11-year major league career that ended in 2003.
His son Patrick, 30, has gone on to become one of the NFL‘s most successful ever quarterbacks.
The Chiefs play-caller has won three Super Bowls and commands one of the league’s biggest ever contracts.
