The Kansas City Chiefs have revealed some important news on the legendary tight end

The Chiefs hero has even put the brakes on his wedding plans with his superstar fiance Taylor Swift to help him make the right call.

Kelce became only the third tight end in NFL history to surpass 13,000 receiving yards at the end of this season.

The Chiefs have now announced that Kelce has been named to PFWA’s 2025 All-AFC team.

By his own remarkably high standards, the 2025 season was a poor one and he didn’t even make the All-Pro top 50.

In fact, despite winning the Super Bowl in 2023, Kelce has missed the 1000-yard receiving mark for the past three regular seasons.

Previous to the 2023 season, Kelce had topped 1000 receiving yards for the past seven years.

His diminishing output will naturally have played a part in thinking about retirement.

It took a disastrous 6-11 Chiefs season, however, and missing out on the playoffs for that to become truly serious.

The Chiefs hadn’t missed the postseason since Kelce’s rookie season all the way back in 2014.

Head coach Andy Reid hasn’t messed about after their dismal year, making wholesale offensive coaching changes on his staff.

One such change is reportedly bringing back Eric Bieniemy as Chiefs offensive coordinator.

The move to sign Bieniemy as OC once again truly excited Kelce when he discussed it on the New Heights podcast.

He also dropped a subtle hint that he may come back with Bieniemy, saying, “I can’t wait to see him back in the building man.”

No one but Kelce truly knows whether he will be back next season, and he clearly doesn’t know himself currently.

There is NFL broadcasting career waiting for Kelce should he decide to hang up the cleats.

However, the allure of Bieniemy back on the Chiefs offense is one he may find too difficult to turn down.
