A New Era Begins: Historic NFL Franchise Makes Major Progress on $2.2 Billion Stadium Project, Officially Shifting Gears After 28 Years at Its Current Home

The Tennessee Titans’ new stadium is starting to take shape
The Tennessee Titans have shared an update on their New Nissan Stadium that is currently under construction.
It comes as the Titans are among seven current NFL franchises planning moves to new homes in the coming years.
An update has been shared on the New Nissan Stadium website explaining that the venue is entering the next stage of its development.
“We’ve officially shifted gears from just building the outer structure to really focusing on the envelope enclosure, which are the physical barriers that separates the interior of a building from the external environment,” the statement reads.
“Speaking of the roof, things are moving fast. The TPO (thermoplastic polyolefin, for those wondering) roof membrane is wrapping its way around the stadium and we’re almost halfway done with the massive 360,000 sq. ft. of total roofing surface.”
It has also been revealed that the first lettering has been installed on top of the stadium.
Each side of the venue will have the stadium’s name spelled in 15-foot letters.
These are expected to be installed by spring.
The Titans moved to the current Nissan Stadium in 1999 after a single campaign at the Vanderbilt Stadium.
They won their first 13 games at their home before finally losing to the Baltimore Ravens in November 2000.
It has been a more difficult story over recent years with the Titans claiming just two wins at home over the past two campaigns.
The Titans now are set to move out after nearly three decades with their new ground taking shape rapidly.
Their new stadium will seat 60,000 fans.
This is nearly 10,000 fewer than the current Nissan Stadium houses.
Construction was briefly halted after a noose was found on the site with cops investigating the incident.
Over 90,000 cubic yards of concrete has now been poured as the stadium nears completion.
Additionally, 17 of the 27 passenger elevators have been installed alongside 44 escalators.
The deadline is rapidly approaching with the Titans set to move in ahead of the 2027 NFL season.
