And before the quarterback was drafted by the Chiefs in 2017 as the 10th overall pick his better half was tearing it up on the soccer field.
So much so that she will be inducted into the Hall of Fame at the University of Texas Tyler for her impressive career between 2013 and 2016.
Brittany said: “I’m honored to be inducted.
“My time at UT Tyler played a huge role in shaping my life, career, and the person I am today.
“I’m especially grateful to Coach [Stefani] Webb – her belief in me, leadership, and constant support had an incredible impact on my journey both on and off the field.
“UT Tyler will always hold a special place in my heart. I’m so thankful for the experiences and the people who were part of making my time in Tyler one I will never forget.”
Brittany’s college is commemorating what it described as “one of the strongest careers in UT Tyler women’s soccer history”.
Patrick’s wife registered an impressive 31 goals in 74 appearances for the team.
UT director of athletics Sam Ferguson said: “Brittany’s outstanding playing career was unmatched, as she found the net with frequency.
“Her career pales only in comparison to the incredible work she has been doing to advance women in sport.”
Brittany’s official induction will take place on March 28 in a ceremony that will only be open to close friends and family.
After leaving UT Tyler, the former athlete had a brief spell playing soccer in Iceland.
She then continued in Europe shortly after the Chiefs picked up her husband.
Brittany is no longer active in professional sport and that’s been the case for most of her marriage to Patrick.
Their wedding took place in Hawaii after the NFL superstar proposed in 2020.
The pair have three children – daughter Sterling, 4, son Bronze, 3, and other daughter Golden Raye, 1.
However, Brittany still remains active in soccer but outside the field.
She joined the ownership group of women’s soccer club Kansas City Current upon its creation as an expansion team in 2020.
The club’s debut season resulted in a last-place finish in the league, ending the campaign with just three wins.
But through steady growth, the side has shone this season, with the Mahomes family enjoying a historic, record-breaking campaign.
