Stefanski has been fired after six years in charge of the Browns.

It has been a rough season for the Browns as they finished fourth in the AFC North.

They claimed just five wins from 17 games during the 2025 campaign.

This included a season-ending 20-18 victory against Ohio rivals the Cincinnati Bengals yesterday.

Defensive end Myles Garrett, 30, has set the league’s single-season sack record with his 23rd of the season during the fourth quarter.

Bengals coach Zac Taylor, 42, has blasted the officials as his side succumbed to a narrow loss.

But this has not been enough to save Stefanski’s job.

Stefanski joined the Browns as head coach in 2020.

He had spent the previous 14 seasons in various positions with the Minnesota Vikings.

His last role was as the team’s offensive coordinator.

Stefanski was named as the AP NFL Coach of the Year during his first season in Cleveland.

He won the award again in 2023.

These were the only two seasons that the Browns reached the NFL playoffs under Stefanski’s leadership.

Stefanski is set to be one of several key figures fired in the NFL on Black Monday.

Elsewhere, the Atlanta Falcons have fired head coach Raheem Morris, 49, and general manager Terry Fontenot, 45, in a brutal clear out.

But Stefanski is understood to be seen as a top candidate for teams looking for a new coach.
