Adam Thielen, 35, has announced his retirement from professional football.

Thielen steps away after an impressive 13-year career in the NFL.

The wide receiver started his career in the league as an undrafted free agent with the Minnesota Vikings in 2013.

He spent ten seasons with the Vikings before moving on.

 

 

 

During this time he was named as a two-time Pro Bowler for the 2017 and 2018 NFL seasons.

Thielen was also selected as a second-team All-Pro player for the 2017 campaign.

He then made the move to the Carolina Panthers in 2023.

The wideout spent two seasons in North Carolina before returning to the Vikings.

 

 

 

Veteran Thielen was traded for a conditional 2026 seventh-round NFL Draft pick, and a 2027 fifth-round pick.

He made 11 appearances during his second stint with the Vikings before he requested to be waived in December.

The experienced receiver was then picked up by the Steelers for the remainder of the 2025 NFL season.

Thielen has now announced his retirement from football following the Steelers’ Wild Card playoff loss.

 

 

 

His Steelers suffered a 30-6 loss to the Houston Texans after the visitors rallied for 23 points during the fourth quarter.

The Steelers were booed from the field following their collapse against the Texans.

Head coach Mike Tomlin, 53, has stepped down as the Steelers head coach after 19 years at the helm.

 

 

 

Now retirement rumors hang over quarterback Aaron Rodgers, 42, following their playoff exit.

Thielen made six appearances for the Steelers before announcing his retirement.

He made 25 yards from two receptions against the Texans.
