Stefon Diggs allegedly hit and then choked a female employee during a dispute over money earlier this month, according to a newly released police report.
The report — first obtained by PEOPLE — stated the alleged incident occurred at Diggs’ Dedham, Mass. home on Dec. 2, one day after the Patriots star helped his team to a “Monday Night Football” victory over the Giants.
Diggs and the alleged victim — identified by multiple reports as his former personal chef — got into a quarrel about money before the NFL star attacked, according to the report.

New England Patriots star Stefon Diggs allegedly slapped and choked a female employee at his house in Dedham, Mass. over a money dispute, according to a police report.
The woman, who had allegedly been employed by Diggs until she quit following their Dec. 2 altercation, first made the allegations to police on Dec. 16, though she initially said she did not want to pursue charges, the report stated.
On Dec. 23, however, she told cops she did want to go forward with the case.
Diggs, who is dating rapper Cardi B, is now facing one felony count of strangulation and one count of misdemeanor assault over the claims. He’s due in court for arraignment on Jan. 23 — two days before the scheduled kickoff of the AFC Championship game.

Diggs is currently dating and has a child with rapper Cardi B.

Diggs, through his attorney David Meier, has vehemently denied the allegations.
“They are unsubstantiated, uncorroborated, and were never investigated — because they did not occur,” Meier said in a statement Tuesday. “The timing and motivation for making the allegations is crystal clear: they are the direct result of an employee-employer financial dispute that was not resolved to the employee’s satisfaction.”
The Patriots added in a statement of their own that they “support Stefon.”

Diggs is set to be arraigned on Jan. 23.

“We will continue to gather information and will cooperate fully with the appropriate authorities and the NFL as necessary,” the team said.
The NFL, meanwhile, stated Tuesday it’s aware of the matter and is in contact with the Patriots.
New England just clinched the AFC East on Sunday and will play a game on Sunday against the Dolphins before it begins postseason play the following week.
Diggs has recorded 82 catches for 970 yards and four touchdowns in 16 games this season.
